LNL NGP-2220 ACS controller

Lenel Systems International released network controllers of NGP-2220 series which are intended for consolidation of a control system of access and a security alarm, and allow to service up to 250,000 access cards, 66 doors, 512 security loops and 256 relay exits. New products use OS Linux, the Ethernet 10/100 Base-T interface and provide capacity in 8 times more, than SKD controllers with serial ports. Besides, each SKD device is supplied with 4 RS-485 ports through which it is possible to service up to 96 dependent devices: keyboards, modules of inputs and outputs, interface units of readers, etc.

4 models are a part of NGP-2220 series. The basic model is intended for the SKD organization of large and technically complex systems, and NGP-2220i, NGP-2220iUL and NGP-2220iCE controllers with marking of "i" provide integration of control systems of access and a security alarm. The alphabetic expansion "UL" and "CE" in the name of model means that the SKD controller is delivered in uniform boxing with electrical power unit on 110 and 220 V, respectively. New products use the Linux operating system, have high capacity and high performance, and existence of Ethernet 10/100 Base-T port increases reliability of a system due to reservation of a communication channel.

When using NGP-2220 as a hardware platform of the security system including up to 512 loops, the controller allows to program setting/removal from protection of both priority, and general areas (up to only 130). For differentiation of user rights on setting/removal of an object from protection the SKD controller supports up to 1000 user profiles. The general reliability of a security system based on NGP-2220 is increased by 128-bit data encryption at information exchange with the central OnGuard server. Check of operability of a security alarm based on the controller in the mode of installation is performed at activation of the Walk test mode.

NGP-2220 is capable to service to 66 access points of SKD with identification on an input and an exit. At the same time it is possible to bring readers for the organization of pass through 2 doors to the controller, and the others 64 — when using expansion units of Lenel company. The SKD controller can store information about 250,000 access cards in the memory and also the event log on 50,000 records. NGP-2220 allows to program up to 32,000 access levels (128 on the card), supports prohibition of repeated pass, and provides restriction of the maximum number of people in a zone.

Additional opportunities at SKD appear at integration of NGP-2220 into the building automation system. New controllers of series 2220 can manage work up to 256 actuators connected to them via modules of exits including the equipment of the notification, lighting, etc. At the same time the SKD controller supports function of local and remote diagnostics of the status.

In addition to independent operation, NGP-2220 can function as a part of the global Lenel OnGuard system. Under control of the OnGuard server the new controller can segment the zones SKD connected to it and, thus, service several independent zones. Based on OnGuard it is possible to create an end-to-end system of security of geographically distributed objects which part the access control system managed via the SKD controller, a security alarm and a video surveillance system is. At this software of OnGuard allows to connect video with specific events and provides the notification of users on alarm by E-mail.
