VIENNA, brewery (Solvo.WMS)

At the end of April, 2006 the project on system implementation of management of Solvo.WMS in a warehouse of VENA brewery in Chelyabinsk successfully came to the end. This project was carried out within the program of the general increase in efficiency of warehouse economy for the purpose of implementation of the uniform standards adopted for the enterprises of VVN holding.

Description of a warehouse

The warehouse of VENA brewery in Chelyabinsk has the area about 8 thousand pallets and is located on two floors. On the first floor the main storage of products received from production on four pipeline lines is performed, and on the second packing materials are mainly stored. In a warehouse in the round-the-clock operation mode perform about 70 people. It is obvious that the industrial warehouse complex of such sizes cannot effectively function without the system of operational management of technology processes. Besides, for VENA company in Chelyabinsk it is important to maintain high growth rates of business both the company "VENA", and all holding Baltic Beverages Holding AB.

Implementation Progress

Based on an open tender as system provider of management the SOLVO company - the leader of the Russian market in the number of completed projects in the territory of Russia with which agreement was signed in May, 2005 was selected. Professionalism of development team, the developed functionality, a user-friendly interface of a system and that the most important, - existence of a large number of successful implementations in production warehouses were decisive arguments for benefit of the solution Solvo.WMS. The special role during the choice of a system was played by the fact that since 2000 the warehouse management system Solvo.WMS is successfully operated in a warehouse of VENA brewery in St. Petersburg.

In a production warehouse in Chelyabinsk specialists of SOLVO company should implement the updated industry solution of Solvo.WMS developed especially for the brewing industry. Integration of a management system of Solvo.WMS with a single corporate system Monolith was an important task. The implementation project of a warehouse management system was limited to the tough terms caused by need to prepare a warehouse for the summer season which is characterized by peak loads. However, because of mergers of companies of JSC Baltika Brewery with Vienna, Pikra and Yarpivo companies, at the initiative of the Customer of work on implementation were suspended for 3 months. Despite it, on April 24, 2006, directly before a summer season, the management system of Solvo.WMS was put in commercial operation.

Feature of a warehouse of VENA company in Chelyabinsk is automatic registration of products at an exit from production pipelines. To system implementation of management of Solvo.WMS the warehouse had the difficulties connected with inconsistency of data about products which are released from production and accepted on a warehouse. Now the management system of Solvo.WMS allows to exercise control of all transactions made with loads: acceptance on a warehouse, movement, storage, selection, shipment.

Results

Thanks to system implementation of management of Solvo.WMS in the Chelyabinsk warehouse of VENA company the flexible management system which allowed to solve specific problems of accounting and movement of beer products, to improve use of warehouse spaces is created. A system saves operators from need to duyulirovat on paper of a part of orders for drivers. As soon as the order comes from a head system – the operator starts it in work and a system itself creates the optimized tasks for drivers who in real time using trakovy radio terminals receive tasks (now terminals are installed on 25 loaders). Monitor a work progress and 4 managers and the shift supervisor exercise control. Information on each transaction is immediately entered into a system using scanning or from the keyboard. Data on quantity and arrangement of loads in a warehouse are always exact and relevant, and any deviations can be considered immediately. Thus, in a warehouse complete order is brought.

It should be noted that during system implementation shipment of products never stopped, even in view of the fact that in spring months the brewery actively passed to summer indicators of shipment. In the first days, after end of system implementation of Solvo.WMS the volume of shipments reached a point of 100 thousand gave. (a comment - in 2005 the peak of shipments made 120 thousand gave.). All employees of a warehouse complex underwent necessary training in work with a system. On the course of system implementation additional training was provided and additional methodologies were created.
