MTS and M2M Telematics implement the project on satellite monitoring of city transport in Ivanovo

The Mobile TeleSystems company (MTS) and "M2M Telematics of Ivanovo", the regional partner of M2M Telematics Group, the Russian holding integrating developers, producers, system integrators and suppliers of the finished solutions and services in the market of transport telematics and satellite navigation announced the beginning of joint project implementation on the automated satellite monitoring of commercial passenger transport of the Ivanovo region using GLONASS/GPS technology.

During the project which started on May 3 on vehicles exchange GLONASS/GPS/GSM telematic service stations which allow to monitor with a high accuracy the movement of the vehicle in real time in the territory of all Russia and abroad are installed. Terminals with support of GPRS technology provide transfer on the server of navigation information on location of the city transport connected to the program with the set frequency. After information processing on the server, the customer has an opportunity to analyze data on the current location of transport, speed of movement, traffic density and the predicted arrival time on the following stop.

At the moment GLONASS/GPS/GSM terminals equip more than 100 vehicles of commercial carriers. The project is implemented on all transport system of the Ivanovo region, including the long-distance message.

In 2008 in the Ivanovo region the full-function regional project of social cards within which more than 160,000 social cards are so far issued and issued is implemented. As the system of service of social cards on transport the automated system of payment and accounting (ASOUP) Drive "Convenient route" was used, the Rosan company acted as the supplier of the technological solution. Payment of journey using the social card it is performed via payment POS terminals in about 2000 vehicles performing passenger traffic in the territory of all Ivanovo region.

For data collection and configuring of terminals the GPRS channel is used. For these purposes the MTS company develops and implements a special rate for M2M of services.
