"Phaeton" will support work of the gas stations through new DPC

The network of gas stations of Faeton company operating in the territory of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region completed creation of a data processing center.

The company intends to continue the active development, and in the nearest future is going to open new gas stations and representations in other regions of Russia and also to expand the new direction - network of fueling stations for the private water transport. Implementation of these plans of the company requires an additional set of software products for enterprise management and accounting of fuel and lubricants and also for processing and the analysis of large volumes of the data arriving from networks of gas station and minimarkets. With respect thereto in the company there was a need for upgrade of the available IT infrastructure and creation of a powerful failsafe data processing center for head office of the company in St. Petersburg.

The BCC company became the contractor on creation of DPC. 12 high-end servers in different configurations entered a computing subsystem of the center. On them the applications "1C: Enterprise" are run, requests to a DB of Oracle are processed, the corporate web portal, services of e-mail and also services for diagnostics, control and management of DPC is placed. Except the computing subsystem intended for functioning of corporate applications as a part of the solution subsystems of storage and data transmission are provided.

The centralized data warehouse is built based on SAN technology (Storage Area Network) for the scheme which does not have the general point of failure. It is executed on the basis of a disk storage system with 16 hard drives and tape library. Switching of components of storage under the FC protocol is provided by active network equipment of Cisco 3750E.

The drive of tape library of backup is connected directly to network of storage of SAN. It allowed to reduce considerably the general time of backup, implementing the scheme LAN free backup without use of the managing server. Uninterrupted power of DPC is organized based on the equipment of APC, using a set of mutually duplicated 6 kVA UPSes everyone. It allowed to provide the failsafe solution on power supply.

As a result it was succeeded to reduce operational risks of idle time of gas station and minimarkets because of unplanned stops of an information system of the company, to create a basis for further development of the services connected with routine maintenance of clients (the range of fuel and discount cards, work with payments, monetary and fuel control, consolidation of set of services for individual and corporate clients, maintaining marketing programs, use of tools of a business intelligence).
