Experience of implementation of Infinity TAXI in "The national taxi" (Yoshkar-Ola)

The National Taxi company was organized in the city of Yoshkar-Ola, the Republic of Mari El in 2002. At the moment she integrates 4 taxi services of different orientation (from the inexpensive taxi to foreign cars, machines of a VIP-class and wedding escort) and also is engaged in cargo transportation and renders services of car service.

According to the founder and the technical director of "The national taxi", Vladislav Ermakov, the basic decision on automation of service was made in far December, 2006. The reason of such solution is simple – exceeding of demand over opportunities, more calls and requests came to service, than the company physically could process at that time.

In February, 2007 "The national taxi" for the first time tried to implement the Infinity TAXI system, however the project was not crowned with success - for the first month of work after implementation the volume of requests in service decreased since 1000 to 300 in day.

"After the detailed analysis of current situation we understood that a problem in personnel. People did not want to learn to work in a new way and often just sabotaged work, - Vladislav Ermakov shares. – For example, managers did not tell the client whether there is transport available and what machine will approach. Said simply that there will be a machine with a checkered pattern of "The national taxi", wait. In general the personnel very great brought us, and there was a feeling that employees for the first time saw the keyboard".

As a result the decision to postpone complex automation for later term was made for now gradually to train managers and drivers to new features using other, more primitive systems, in particular began with Java modules for drivers.

This stage lasted long three years, up to August, 2010 when the company management decided to make the second attempt. According to Vladislav Ermakov in spite of the fact that during this time in "The national taxi" managed to test the most part of programs of attendees at the market, any could not contend with Infinity TAXI on stability of operation of the server and a ratio price/functionality. This time decided to approach a question of implementation gradually, and at first only the secondary service "Foreign Car Taxi" servicing at that time about 300 orders a day was automated. In this dispatching office the personnel for training were in addition gathered. As Vladislav Ermakov jokes: "We just opened gym for managers with the name "Foreign Car Taxi" and it bore fruit - employees learned to work with two, and some with three clients at the same time. The program allowed to optimize the number of employees on the basis of statistics on calls. Now I know when in what time to what day of the week there is the main wave, and I can vary the number of employees, based on these data".

According to Vladislav Ermakov, as a result it is possible to select several especially important points which have a positive impact on business:

  • Territorial independence. Operators can come to work in the next, to their residence, the dispatching office and their work can be controlled from the main office.
  • Use of Java terminals gave the chance to bring a large number of drivers, without creation of chaos which always arose in an air.
  • Prepaid work with drivers and the system of settlement allowed to reduce considerably quantity of problems in interaction.
  • Verifiability of the executed orders on each driver and encouragement of regular customers of the taxi.
  • Possibility of completely automatic otzvon to the client.

In March, 2011 the second taxi service, and its implementation, thanks to the gathered experience was connected to a system, passed very successfully. At the moment Infinity TAXI in the company processes about 3000 orders a day, depending on time of day and a day of the week, in dispatching office works from the 2nd (during the night period) to 9 operators (for example, in Friday evening), in change from 150 to 200 machines.
