Around the world for protection of outline borders of industrial zones, the airports and ports thermal imaging cameras of production of FLIR Systems company are used. The large companies apply these solutions for protection of the property; also they are applied to security of the dwelling. The FLIR thermal imaging cameras, perhaps, are the ideal solution for security of the dwelling, in view of their availability, security to the environment and also lack of need of maintenance.
The estate located in the neighborhood of the city of Newport-Pagnell (County of Buckinghamshire, Great Britain) is the striking example confirming the aforesaid. For protection of the estate the integrated FLIR Case Security system is used. Andrew Herridzh, the operating officer of Case Security, tells about the reasons of the choice of thermal imaging cameras by the owner of the estate: "The FLIR thermal imaging cameras are very reliable, and they can be used in the conditions of insufficient lighting".
Case Security provides electronic solutions of security for the commercial markets and also for a narrow circle of key local clients. Ultramodern technologies, including thermovision are applied to ensuring control, observation and protection of the real estate of clients.
Lighting is not required Unlike the other systems of night vision, thermal imaging cameras determine the level of permanent temperature radiation, and on the basis of data retrieveds visual images form. It means that the FLIR thermal imaging cameras can work round the clock regardless of lighting conditions. But there is more to come: temperature radiation gets into the atmosphere better and more deeply, than a visible light that, in turn, allows to observe objects through a gaze, smoke, dust clouds and even a dense mist.
"This estate has quite large territory, – continues Herridzh. – In these rural areas there is no street lighting therefore for control of all territory using normal surveillance cameras we should set lighting instruments independently. Such procedure not only will be very expensive, but also will draw special attention to property, will break an ecosystem of the local wild nature and will negatively affect the environment, considering electricity volume necessary for maintenance of devices in working order. It is also necessary to take maintenance overheads into account, often service life of lamps makes very short time. With the FLIR thermal imaging cameras of similar problems at you will not arise".
Ease of use In the FLIR thermal imaging cameras of the SR series the most modern technologies among those that are available today are used. At the same time the equipment is supplied in a convenient complete set. The FLIR SR-313 thermal imaging cameras are equipped with the uncooled detector on the basis of vanadium oxide that allows to receive sharp thermal images with the resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Modern software under the name Digital Detail Enhancement, installed in cameras, promotes quality improvement of images so there is an opportunity to make out even the smallest parts. In normal surveillance cameras the main criterion by which the observer should distinguish threat is color difference. Even at moderate distances the weak contrast can make such cameras useless. Thermal imaging cameras have no such restriction. "Contrast level in thermal images is, as a rule, much higher thanks to a difference of body temperature of the person and ambient temperature, – explains to Herridzh. – Simply speaking, it means that using the thermal imaging camera you can detect presence of the person at a great distance".
Magnificent range of detection the FLIR SR-313 Thermal imaging cameras are equipped with a lens of 35 mm that allows to detect the purpose of the size of the person at distance of 780 m, and the small car – at distance over 2 km. Thanks to so magnificent characteristics of range of detection for observation of all territory of the estate absolutely small amount of the FLIR thermal imaging cameras of the SR series is necessary. "On the highest sections of the building we mounted six FLIR SR-313 thermal imaging cameras which cover all territory of the estate".
These six thermal imaging cameras are connected with several surveillance cameras by means of TCP/IP network. "Images from all sensors of TCP/IP network, including the FLIR SR-313 thermal imaging cameras, can be browsed on any television screen in the building".
Hi-tech set to FLIR software For network management of Case Security software of FLIR Sensor Manager. FLIR Sensor Manager gives hi-tech and effective abilities to manage any equipment on security, including the systems of the FLIR thermal imaging cameras. It allows to provide protection of big industrial zones, the airports, ports and also residential buildings – such as estate in the County of Buckinghamshire. FLIR Sensors Manager allows the user not only to automatically detect all FLIR thermal imaging cameras in network and with ease to manage them, but also to control many other sensors.
Video analytics "We use hi-tech software of FLIR Sensors Manager as a guarantee that information on any incidents will be without delay sent to the owner, – explains to Herridzh. – FLIR Sensors Manager includes the video analysis module with function of detection of the movement and the purpose. The user can set invisible wiring of emergency shutdown and other signaling systems. If a system defines that someone crosses outline borders of ownership, silent signaling will work, and images on the basis of which signaling was activated will be shown on the screen. And the user will be able to define at once whether this person is an offender or it is false alarm. If this really illegal penetration, further actions, such as call of police, are undertaken without delay.
Besides, all images constantly register in hard drives for the subsequent use, for example for providing police as proofs, – continues Herridzh. – If nothing extraordinary occurs, video files will be deleted a week later. If the owner exercises independent control of this process or if signaling works, files will be stored until the owner does not decide to delete them".
Observation for the alpaca "In this case, the owner uses the FLIR SR-313 thermal imaging cameras and for other purpose, – says Herridzh. – The estate held the alpaca, small animals from South America, similar to lamas which give the wool similar to sheep wool. These animals are an investment object and stand much therefore the owner using the FLIR SR-313 thermal imaging cameras monitors that with his alpaca everything was as it should be. He says that he with ease can define whether escaped any the alpaca from herd and whether the behavior of animals changes".
According to Herridzha, installation of cameras went without problems. All cameras of the SR series can be connected to the normal power interfaces and videos used in the existing and new security systems without effort. They can be integrated with ease into any existing infrastructure of surveillance cameras, and images received using thermal imaging cameras can be output to any display supporting composite video signal.
