"Римэкс" delivered SAP instead of 1C

The Rimeks group of companies which is engaged in business about sale of autobuses and disks in the Urals carried out large-scale ERP migration from old platforms, including 1C, on SAP ERP. The project is implemented by local integrator "Technology AB".

The retail chain stores of "Rimeks" represent the 19th service markets in Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen and Nizhny Tagil, with a total area of 4500 sq.m. In addition to wholesale and retail the company is engaged in car service and manages car showrooms, the servicing company for own real estate and also own vehicle fleet.

Until recently the 1C system was the center of a corporate information system of "Rimeks". In addition to 1C "Rimeks" had "several solutions IT of different vendors", said in official release of SAP, but their names do not reveal. Among shortcomings of the old platform of it are also listed: high costs for maintenance of operability of all systems, frequent failures and also that circumstance that the most part of crucial transactions was carried out in the offline mode.

Generally, in "Rimeks" decided to refuse old information "zoo". The task of the new project consisted that information space became uniform, and a system was scalable and reliable. "We selected the SAP solution as positively proved in holding structures and rather flexible to consider specifics of our business" — Sergey Kalegin noted.

Now the SAP solution is a single system of accounting of goods in a wholesale company and retail network, including management of a warehouse (WMS), also in a system account of all financial activities, including management (formation and control) of the income and expenditure budget both by separate types of business, and on holding in general is kept.

In a project deliverable accounting of goods in warehouses is improved: in a system data on arrangement of goods in a warehouse are displayed that allowed to optimize use of warehouse, to minimize costs for intra warehouse transactions — placement and selection of goods, an inventerization that allows to carry out shipments quicker.

Terms of preparation of documents are significantly reduced, the quantity of errors and corrections decreased. All work with data is carried out online, at the same time load of servers and data networks is optimized that allowed the company to cut down expenses on infrastructure. Data transmission is conducted in the safe mode, and software updates are established needlessly for users to stop work in a system, said in release about project finish.

Besides, on the website of the Ekaterinburg firm "Quorus AKS" there is information that during the ERP project also the Rimeks server platform was replaced: the SunFire x4600 server of SUN Microsystems company with two-nuclear processors was purchased. Acquisition of this server allowed more, than by 4 times to increase the number of at the same time working users in the existing accounting system and also to completely exclude "transactions". SunFire X4600 M2 is hardware-compatible with the latest four-nuclear Opteron AMD processors, so there is a possibility of expansion of a system to 32-main cores and 64 GB of RAM.

As a result the single platform for support of the business processes connected with purchases and sales, accounting of goods in a wholesale company and retail network, optimization of financial activities in all business directions of GP "Rimeks" is created. The project budget and number of licenses do not reveal.
