Autodesk Revit Structure 2012 is the specialized solution for design and the preliminary analysis of constructions based on BIM technology. Data of the analytical Revit Structure model can be processed using the specialized settlement Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis program. At the same time bidirectional contact is kept. It means that after calculation the model is automatically updated taking into account the received results. The technology of parametric control provides with changes coordination of all parts of the project and documentation. Besides, from Revit Structure it is possible to transfer analytical information to the programs for automated design and calculations of building constructions created by third-party developers.

The analytical model may contain both all model of the building, and its separate fragments — one wing, one frame construction, etc. If carrying out calculations is optional to all building, then it is necessary to select a separate structural element (a fragment, overlapping or a wing) using filters of the choice and to send it to the corresponding application.

The analytical model is created on the basis of the rules of design providing coordination of analytical representation of project construction. There is however a possibility of direct editing analytical model.

Autodesk Revit Structure allows specialists to apply engineering knowledge creatively: using developed by them governed the arrangement of model of rather coordinate planes adapts, for example. Such defects of construction as lack of support, errors in frameworks or the general loss of stability, come to light automatically.

After results of calculation are received, there is a dynamic updating of project model and documentation. At such organization of process need for repeated accomplishment of excess tasks — for example, modeling of frameworks and covers in third-party applications disappears. Autodesk Revit Structure is integrated with Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional and other known engineering and settlement programs. Automatic creation of cuts and facades

In comparison with traditional methods creation of cuts and facades in Autodesk Revit Structure differs in the simplicity — these types are representations of uniform model of the building. Working for them, you can make any changes to model. If any cuts and/or facades are not postponed for sheets of drawings, at printing of the work documentation the corresponding brands of cuts and designation of facades are not displayed.

Automatic tracking of correctness of types

The model has the associative communications helping to control behind that all cuts, facades and fragments of nodes referred to the correct sheets of drawings and also that all data and graphic elements, specifications and drawings in a documentation kit were approved among themselves. Autodesk Revit Structure creates fragments both for standard, and for non-standard nodes. A standard set of means 2D - design of Autodesk Revit Structure allows to create sheets with drawings of nodes on the basis of sketches.

You can also import components of nodes to Autodesk Revit Structure from AutoCAD, using the DWG format. Control of the imported components is exercised using the project Browser. Drawings of non-standard nodes form directly by types of model. Then they are complemented parametrical 2D - components (a metal timbering, concrete blocks, anchor bolts in the bases, fixing parts, welding, steel junction plates, an armature, etc.) and explanatory elements to which the text and the sizes belong.

As construction becomes complicated, Autodesk Revit Structure passes to the three-dimensional components of nodes created on the basis of model. Among them — the compensating seams of buildings, steel connecting elements, reinforcing profiles and t.p …

Specifications

Specifications to the project can be created at any convenient time. The specification is one of representations of model of the building. Change of the specification leads to automatic change of types of the project. In specifications such transactions as sorting, filtering, grouping and calculation of total values and also calculations for the formulas set by the user are possible. Engineers can configure specifications so that to estimate projects of constructions in general.

In such a way it is possible to count, for example, previously loads of construction before transfer of model to the customized settlement application. If loading changes, then after input of new value in the specification all model is updated.

BIM technology for design of building constructions

The uniform digital model is the cornerstone of BIM technology. It is used for design, calculations and documentation release; with its help coordination of data with architects, designers of the engineering systems and infrastructure facilities is performed. Besides, from this model information necessary for production of constructions of the building is taken.

Information modeling of buildings (BIM technology) represents the complex process based on use of the exact and coordinated data at all stages — from development of the concept of the building before its construction and commissioning.
