Sergey Lvovich was born on September 21, 1954 in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) where he studied at high school. However, the tenth class had to be finished already in Simferopol where moved on family circumstances. After school year worked at the Simferopol television plant, and in 1972 entered the Kurgan agricultural institute on agronomical faculty. Upon termination of university in 1977 remained at department of agrochemistry where offered it a position of the senior research associate, and in parallel taught geodesy at department of agriculture. In January, 1980 it was enlisted in full-time postgraduate study of the Omsk agricultural institute (today — OMGAU) and it is accepted by the senior research associate. In 1984 defended the dissertation for a degree of the candidate of agricultural sciences then two years was engaged in the organization of research activity and implementation of scientific developments in basic farms of institute. Was fond of rock-climbing and mountaineering, bypassed almost all mountains of the Soviet Union, and during the expedition to Pamir executed the standard of the candidate for the Master of Sports in mountaineering.
From 1986 to 1993 taught at department of botany, giving a course of lectures on geobotany and fundamentals of ecology, and three years was the deputy dean for study of agronomical faculty. In the early nineties participated in work of the Omsk commodity exchange where at that time tried to organize trade in futures contracts on grain, and then decided to get the higher economic education (the diploma of OMGAU in "Economy and management in the industries of HSC" received in 1999). In the mid-nineties taught exchange activity at institute of advanced training for specialists of agrarian and industrial complex at OMGAU, and in parallel gave a course of lectures on exchange trade at faculty of the international business of OMGU. In 1996 it was appointed the chief of educational and methodical management of OMGAU. Since 2001 — the vice rector for licensing, accreditation and public relations. On June 28, 2010 it is elected to a position the rector of OMGAU. On June 14, 2010 it is confirmed to the rector's post by the order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Has the license of the National expert in education quality evaluation granted by Rosobrnadzor on carrying out accreditations of the Russian and foreign universities. In 2010 headed the commission on accreditation of Novosibirsk State University.
He is married, two children — the daughter and the son.
