Bor Pipe Plant implements a uniform directory service of the Active Directory

In Windows Server 2003 R2 are implemented:

• The improved management tools identification of users and access rights to the resources located in different domains.
• The enhanced capabilities of a directory service of the Active Directory allowing to create easily the global security system covering all divisions of the enterprise and all platforms used in his IT - infrastructure, with uniform command center identification of users.
• The improved tools for creation of storages and management of them. The updated management system for storages provides the best management and control and allows to reduce operating costs.

In the project progress the following tasks were carried out:

1. The uniform directory service of the Active Directory in which all users, computers and peripheral equipment were registered is created.

2. In a directory service of the Active Directory 3 additional organizational divisions were created: Install – for deployment of an anti-virus complex, InstallFC – for software deployment of Microsoft Firewall Client and marketing - for application of non-standard policy to certain computers. Also in a directory service the user groups corresponding to the administrative structure of the enterprise (Accounting, Personnel department, etc.) were created.

3. The service of domain names of DNS (Domain Name System) and service DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) were unrolled.

4. For workstations group politicians were configured.

5. As the system software of servers domain controllers and the SQL server the server operating system of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 was used. It is the scalable platform with enhanced capabilities of security offering new scenarios including more effective management of identification, access and storages.

6. As an Internet gateway Microsoft ISA Server 2006 - the full-function expanded firewall and a cache server of scale of medium-sized and large enterprise which is based on the Windows operating system was set.

7. Access of workstations to the ISA server is organized in the Firewall regime of clients, for this purpose on workstations by means of means group the politician the software of Microsoft Firewall Client was unrolled and automatic detection of the ISA server is configured.

8. For ensuring high availability of network services strategy of timely backup of a status of servers was developed.

9. During implementation of the Active Directory about 100 workstations were connected to the domain. For connection of the workstation to the Active Directory it was recommended to use OS not below Windows XP with the set updates.

Result

Implementation of a uniform directory service of Microsoft Active Directory gave the chance of "BTZ" to take the following advantage: Increase in employee performance: the centralized information warehouse, easy and secure access to documents; regulation of the access levels to documents on the basis of certain users or groups, a possibility of reservation and recovery of documents. Cutting of costs for management of the IT environment: Reduction of costs of time and resources by support of network: the simple centralized management tools and administrations allowing to increase productivity of work of employees and efficiency of business processes; The Increased performance of operation of servers: cost reduction on the equipment, software and service. Increase in fault tolerance and minimization of time of idle times:

Increase in functionality of IT – infrastructure reduces risk of failures and idle times in work of data and applications; The Possibility of start of applications, important for business, in the failsafe mode. Increase in data security: The built-in technology of protection of network access allowing to isolate the computers which are not meeting safety requirements; An Opportunity to manage on a centralized basis the last updates for applications.
