Digital Design implements an electronic document management system in Roskosmos

The Digital Design company performs works on system implementation of electronic document management on the DocsVision platform in Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos). At this stage EDMS automates work of 150 employees of central office of the agency.

The project is implemented by Digital Design together with Federal State Unitary Enterprise EHO subordinated to Federal Space Agency. Now the main works on creation and deployment of a departmental electronic document management system and its interface to the system of interdepartmental electronic document management are performed.

The electronic document management system will provide processing up to 400 entering and 200 outgoing documents a day or year on year – to 50 thousand documents a year. EDMS automates the activity connected with registration, processing and accounting of documentation, including citizens' appeals. Besides, the solution provides control of performing discipline and also performs functions of electronic archive. Specialists of Digital Design integrated EDMS of Roskosmos with the system of interdepartmental electronic document management for the protected exchange of electronic documents with Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, Government Office of the Russian Federation and other federal public authorities.

Boris Ignatov, the head of department of information support, Federal Space Agency, comments: "Until recently in Roskosmos the diverse automation equipment of office-work which had no sufficient functionality and did not conform to new requirements of Government Office of the Russian Federation, including regarding MEDO were used. Thanks to creation of a new system we expect to optimize workflows and to enter into work the electronic documents having legal force gradually to force out traditional paper documents. EDMS of Roskosmos is a full-function system which implementation will provide transition to paperless administrative document flow not only in central office, but also within all industry on a single platform at connection of the integrated structures and their enterprises subordinated to the agency".

The automated workplace of the head in EDMS in this case is considered as a part of an automated workplace of the head stated above by IAS".

In the nearest future the prototype of certification center will be unrolled and formation of the electronic digital signature for departmental EDMS and interdepartmental information exchange is provided. Besides, within development of EDMS of Roskosmos in 2011 its upgrade regarding internal regulations in structural divisions of the agency is supposed; process automation of approval and joint preparation of documents in central office; start of the first stage of electronic archive based on Research and Development of the organizations of the space-rocket industry for the benefit of information support of heads and specialists of Roskosmos and its jurisdictional enterprises.
