ZDD is a separate product Serena which provides the user interface and functions is similar to the Conductor of Microsoft Windows Explorer, but for work with the objects (including drag & drop) located on a mainframe. ZDD is able to work with any objects of z/OS and PDS. Editing or viewing on a desktop of objects from a meynfrem do not require transfer of the file on the local machine of the user. When using together with Serena® ChangeMan® ZMF, ChangeMan ZDD the product helps users to perform navigation on ChangeMan ZMF libraries, to create XML requests for formation of packets of changes and to move packets of changes between Wednesdays according to workflow.
The product allows to save expensive and busy resources of a mainframe and to use resources of the working PC of the user. ZDD provides a user-friendly interface for viewing and manipulation with data of meynfrem. The product is integrated with ZMF and has direct access almost to all ZMF functions. Connecting direct access and a possibility of editing objects of ZMF on the PC, the user receives the convenient available reliable tool guaranteeing integrity and change control of data on a mainframe without excess transactions of file transfer between a mainframe and the PC.
