Safari grows quicker than Chrome, IE sharply loses a share in the market

The Safari browser was ahead of all competitors on growth rates due to high sales of devices of Apple. While "monopolist" of the market of IE sharply loses a share and can already step over a psychological barrier in 50% in the fall.

The browser Apple Safari last month showed the maximum growth of a share in the market of browsers for all the history, having beaten on growth rates of the previous leader - Chrome the report says Net Applications.

Safari sharply went uphill because of headliners of Apple, unprecedented on sales volumes, - Mac, iPhone and iPad: generally for July its share grew by 0.6% up to 8.1%. According to Net Applications, on a share of devices based on the operating system iOS, such as iPhone, was necessary about a third of a cumulative share of Safari.

While the share of Safari grows, and it happens over the last 17 months, indicators of Internet Explorer (IE) dropped by 0.9% in July up to 52.8%: this maximum falling of a share since January of the current year. If the share of IE continues to decrease also sharply and in the future months, then in November it will fall below an important psychological mark – 50%.

In addition to Safari only Google Chrome showed growth of a share in July: it increased by 0.3% to 13.5% that can be given to disruptive 15% in October. However Mozilla Firefox and Opera hand over positions, they lost 0.2% and 0.1% in July respectively that indicates their old unresolved problems.

Firefox which recently set the new diagram of updates with frequency each six weeks occupied in July 21.5% in the world market of browsers that for 3% of its share in November, 2009.

According to experts of Net Applications, the share of IE decreases because users desert from the old version of Windows XP. With Windows 7 – another story altogether, Aliso Viejo says. In a cumulative share of all IE browsers 54.8% fall to the share of users of Windows 7 (growth in July for 0.2%). "It is the indicator of the fact that the strategy of Microsoft works", experts of the company say.

IE9 last month exceeded IE7 and approached IE6, but the share of Safari is more than IE9 share.

Lately Microsoft impudently suggests users of Windows XP to move further to new versions. It is not so simple: according to Net Applications, 49.8% are the share of users of Windows XP in the general pie, but process goes. Last year an outdated system lost 12%, for the last two months – 3.3%.

IE9 which Microsoft released in March occupies a share in 6.8% now, in July its share for the first time exceeded IE7 share. However its growth in July appeared more slowly, than in the last two months for which it added in total 3.2%. If to consider only users of Windows 7, the share of IE9 will make 18.5% that is nearly 3% more, than in June.

StatCounter, the European competitor of Net Applications, also announced loss of a share of IE, Firefox and Opera in July. At the same time, according to this company, Chrome and Safari increased the presence in the market. StatCounter which does not divide a share over the countries provided the following digits for July: IE - 42.5%, Firefox - 28%, Chrome - 22.1% and Safari - 5.2%.
