The Service and Pipe Metallurgic Company resource created the system of archiving of corporate e-mail

Specialists of the Service and Pipe Metallurgical Co. (PMC) Resource company, the largest industry holding of the Russian pipe industry, completed an implementation project of a system of archiving of corporate e-mail.

The decision on streamlining of processes of corporate electronic mail network Pipe Metallurgic Company was dictated by a number of factors. First of all constantly increasing e-mail volumes on the server and on working computers of users. It was necessary to eliminate the difficulties arising in connection with loss of contemporary mail records at workstations and also to solve a problem of shortage of disk space on expensive disk arrays of operational data storage. Besides, it was required to increase flexibility of management of the existing volumes of disk space.

To perform work on the project the Service Resource company was attracted. As the software the product Enterprise Vault for Exchange of Symantec company, leading world software developer and solutions was selected.

The project was executed in several stages. Problems of the first stage became creation of the test stand for demonstration to the customer of a full range of opportunities of Enterprise Vault for Exchange and also the choice of necessary functionality.

At the second stage specialists the Service and IT service Pipe Metallurgic Company Resource implemented functions of archiving of mail bases of the MS Exchange server and local mail folders of jobs of users. At the same time transfer of all subjects to archiving of mail data had to be made in an operating mode without breaks in work of users with the productive systems and when preserving transparent access to individual archives of e-mails. Thanks to accurate planning and professionalism of staff of IT service Pipe Metallurgic Company and technical experts the Service Resource this task was successfully solved.

At the final stage of project works specialists the Service and IT service Pipe Metallurgic Company Resource carried out redistribution of disk space between archive and productive disk arrays.
