Sophos Endpoint Security

The product Sophos Endpoint Security is the solution for a comprehensive protection of workstations of users from external and internal threats of information security. The packet can be used for protection both servers and workstations, and portable devices, such as notebooks and mobile devices. The solution Endpoint Security allows to control also access to external ports of the computer that provides the additional level of protection against possible leaks of confidential information. Sophos Endpoint 10

The Sophos company submitted in November, 2011 the new version of the complete solution for protection of endpoints of corporate networks under the name Sophos Endpoint 10. Three main modules are a part of the solution: for assessment of corrections before installation on termination points, for protection and filtering of web traffic and also for data encryption on local carriers.

The Sophos Web Filtering technology providing filtering of web pages and protection of end users against access to inappropriate or harmful contents via web browsers allows to set policy of viewing on 14 main categories of the websites which should not be opened in a workplace. Installation the politician is executed using the single centralized Endpoint Enterprise Console console. Thanks to Web Filtering technology, users will be protected from such websites not only in the workplace, but also on the way, and the organization of additional infrastructure or installation of additional programs for this purpose is not required. The Web Filtering technology also provides the increased performance for corporate network and users – scanning of traffic is executed locally, without sending tasks to a data processing center and obtaining the filtered results back.

The module Patch Assessment in the solution Sophos Endpoint 10 provides identification, ranging and scanning of the major corrections concerning information security. Except corrections to components of operating systems Windows, Patch Assessment technology also supports scanning of corrections to Microsoft applications and products of other producers, including Adobe, Apple, Citrix, Skype and other. Using this technology customers will be able to guarantee that installation of the received corrections will not worsen a situation with security because of the changed files or any other problems.

Also in a new solution of Sophos Endpoint 10 the technology of enciphering capable to cipher contents of hard drives entirely is implemented. Such enciphering not only saves security of all data on desktop and figurative PCs, but also provides the centralized control – IT administrators will be able always to see the status of enciphering in the management console. Moreover, as the new technology is completely integrated into Sophos Endpoint 10, customers do not need to perform the separate procedure of deployment, and for control the additional console is not necessary.

Representatives of Sophos company told that they received the kindest responses to the new version of Sophos Endpoint 10, especially, concerning functions of check of vulnerabilities in corrections. The possibility of control of corrections from a great number of suppliers, including, for technologies of Adobe company, within the Sophos console uniform, already familiar to administrators, became very attractive advantage in the opinion of customers.
