The Russian integrators suggested to use technology of radio-frequency tags not in the traditional field of warehouse logistics, and for fixed asset accounting. Results of the first projects say that such approach is repaid.

I-Teco announced an output to the market of a new solution in the field of inventory and fixed asset accounting. The innovation of the solution consists in use of technology of radio frequency identification (RFID) of objects for conducting inventory accounting.

Traditionally the technology of radio frequency identification was used mainly in the field of warehouse and production logistics. Besides, a number of experts hold the opinion that use of RFID for automation of warehouses is limited because of high cost of tags. So to mark by such tag to a pallet - it is justified, and here drawing tags of RFID on small goods too costly.

The solution of I-Teco has other scope of application. It allows to create the passport of each office on equipment fixed assets, to trace the history of their movement, to create and unload the OS lists by years of operation and to make plans for replacement old and purchase of the new equipment. Also the solution is integrated with the majority of accounting systems.

Besides, use of RFID technology provides data protection from falsification as manual entry of accession number became impossible. Number is read out by the RFID terminal and automatically becomes attached in a system to the registration form of a fixed asset. The facts of unauthorized carrying out of property of the organization are quickly traced.

I-Teco says that already completed a number of projects on implementation of a new accounting system. Experience of the first projects showed that use of RFID technology on average allows to reduce inventory time by 30 times – from two months to two days. For example, about 5 thousand OS placed in more than 150 premises two employees can carry out inventory accounting within two days of everything, note in the company. Among the customers who already used RFID technology for fixed asset accounting - organization of a public sector.

According to Shamil Shakirov, the president of I-Teco, in the company see big perspectives in development of the RFID direction in the field of fixed asset accounting. "Practice of the application developed by us confirmed decisions its success. The solution is universal and can be used by any organizations for fixed asset accounting", – he noted.

I-Teco of TAdviser told that they not the first tried to use RFID out of warehouse walls. For example, similar approach applies IT within the specialized solutions for automatic identification applied in hotels, libraries and archives, the oil and gas industry, medicine on transport and many other spheres. Let's add that for fixed asset accounting use shaped coding much more widely, and similar solutions in the market a large number.

As explained in I-Teco, the know-how of their solution consists in a universal scope: specialists of the company managed to solve a problem of mark sensing, placed on office equipment, safes and other objects with the metal body.

As for a question of profitability of use of RFID for inventory of offices, in I-Teco consider that in this case the price of tags is not a problem. "We after all speak about inventory of fixed assets of the organizations, but not warehouse logistics. Therefore the amount spent for tags of several tens or even thousands of times can be lower than a property value. Everything depends on what price of subjects to inventory", - the representative of I-Teco explained.

As Kirill Sinitsyn, the deputy director general of Ansoft company commented on TAdviser, radio tags will be useful in inventory process acceleration, but only in its part consisting in obtaining the list of objects which are present at the premises. And it is not the longest stage of inventory. Simple positions, for example, furniture, it is possible to check quickly enough. But it is not enough to receive the list - it is necessary to make sure visually that at least the tag from a table is not pasted on a chair. And if inventory affects technically difficult object, say, the personal computer, then the lion share of time is spent for check of characteristics of an object, the expert noted.

According to Kirill Sinitsyn, designated considerable (by 30 times) the effect in fall forward of inventory of OS can be gained now only in those companies where before accounting was carried out absolutely without automation. And, first of all, the effect will be due to automation of the process, but not from RFID. "In general, the idea good, but it is necessary to estimate effect of use of tags in the companies with already available automation. Add support of RFID to the solutions for automation of accounting of OS existing today in the market will be not difficult", - he concluded.

Alexander Rakhmanov, the department director Logistics of Corus Consulting told TAdviser that to use RFID technology for fixed asset accounting in the organization "it is quite possible". "Costs for implementation of technology "will beat off" at the expense of an exception of human errors and decrease in labor costs", - he considers.
