Teligent Multipoint Control Unit (MCU)

The Teligent company (Teligent LLC, Devoteam Group) presents a new solution for the organization and carrying out video conferences on the Internet – Teligent Multipoint Control Unit (MCU). The solution allows telecom operators to provide to subscribers the new level of interactive communication for the organization of business negotiations and operational problem solving in the remote mode.

In the solution Teligent MCU the broad spectrum of functionality is implemented:

• organization of conferences on the schedule (date, time, day of the week)
• adding of new participants in online the mode
• online playing of audio/video of messages
• the automatic notification about the connected/disconnected participants

Also in the solution automatic code conversion is implemented that gives the chance to conferees to use different audio and video codecs. Both the mobile device, and the personal computer is suitable for the organization of video conference.

The solution is developed taking into account specifics of work of telecom operators that allows to integrate easily Teligent MCU with other services of the operator. The solution architecture consists of several key components:

• SIP Application Server implements the MMTel specification
• Voxpilot OMP - the platform opened by media executing a role of media of the processor for transfer of audio and video of messages, detection of DTMF and speech recognition
• Surf board makes processing of video and audio of codecs, integrates RTP flows

Specialists of Teligent company continue work on expansion of functionality Teligent MCU. In plans for development of the solution implementation of the following functionality: record and storage of history of video conferences, text messaging and file transfer.
