The LANIT company completed the project in the field of logistics for Lyumene LLC - branch of the Finnish cosmetic company Lumene. Main objectives of the project were development of performance indicators of work of transport department and formation of recommendations about the choice of optimal management model of local cargo delivery.
One of the most current trends of business is transfer of non-core functions of the organization to external contractors on outsourcing. Even more often the management of many companies resorts to practice of outsourcing, using the main principle "I keep only what I can do better than others, I tell to the external contractor what it does better than others". But there is always a question whether the outsourcing model is applicable to this specific company and if yes, that what model is optimal.
Before the management of the Russian branch of Lumene company there was a problem of the choice of the optimal scheme of the organization of cargo delivery: complete outsourcing of transport services, including booking for delivery, routing, etc.; an opportunity to use the combined model or to have own vehicle fleet. The system of performance indicators was in addition necessary for assessment of a status and control of work of transport department.
In work flow on the project the staff of LANIT revealed and analyzed the main requirements to control of management of transport logistics of department. On the basis of the received results the system of performance indicators of work of transport department was developed. This system includes a number of financial and non-financial performance, the organizations of cargo delivery calculated for all three models. In conclusion of works specialists of LANIT defined an optimal delivery pattern and developed recommendations about optimization of work of transport department.
Having got acquainted with the received outputs, the company management of Lumene made the decision to consider all recommendations connected with optimization of work of transport department and to automate measure calculation of efficiency. Results of this project will help Lyumene LLC to optimize and control the costs connected with cargo delivery; keep track of dynamics of changes of market conditions of transport services that as a result, will give the chance to increase quality of the provided services for clients.

At its carrying out were developed: system of performance indicators, recommendation about the choice of the optimal scheme of work of transport department and also concept of development of transport department. Now the LANIT completes the next stage which provides expansion of functionality of a corporate information system of Lyumene LLC based on 1C of management of manufacturing plants 8, according to the concept offered earlier".
