Bitdefender SVE (Security for Virtualized Environments)

The Romanian company Bitdefender announced in September, 2011 the new product under the name of Bitdefender of SVE (Security for Virtualized Environments) for ensuring protection in the virtualized data processing centers. Integration of a system of Bitdefender of SVE with VMware vShield technology allows to protect reliably from viruses and other malware practically any host machines and the guest systems running operating systems Windows and also Linux and Solaris.

The release of Bitdefender of SVE became the reply of Bitdefender company to the growing need for full antivirus protection for the virtualized environments. The main advantages which are offered by Bitdefender of SVE consist in the minimum resource consumption and the high level of blocking of threats.

It is worth noticing that the new product of Bitdefender protects Wednesdays not only in environments based on VMware, but also when using other virtualization platforms. At installation on Wednesdays of VMware, the system of Bitdefender of SVE effectively uses the built-in protective VMware vShield Endpoint technology. The architecture of a new solution also provides protection of the Linux and Solaris systems and also Wednesdays under control of any other virtualization platform.

The unique architecture of a product provides the centralized scanning with deduplication on the special virtual device running the special strictly protected version of Linux. Such approach allows to reduce considerably consumption of computing resources during the scanning, management and updating of components. The centralized scanning also excludes problems with insufficient protection of systems in load time.

One more important feature of a system of Bitdefender of SVE consists in application of the general for all products Bidefender of patent B-HAVE technology which of the special virtual device scans behavior of any potentially malicious code in any virtual machine, excepting false operations and considerably increasing detection accuracy for new and unknown viruses. Thanks to this technology products of Bitdefender won the prize Virus Bulletin VB100 for the best final result in February, 2011 of virus detection. Technologies of Bitdefender also received the first place in the last two AV-TEST Product Review tests for 2011.
