As TAdviser knew, the cloud hosting provider Clodo is going to present the solution, new to the Russian market of a hosting, – the cloud storage. Service is already available to clients, but officially was not announced its start yet. Clodo began to work at the Russian market as hosting provider, her investor – not called Cyprus company. The amount of investments into Clodo development is also not disclosed.

According to the description of founders of service, the solution is intended first of all for storage of static content (graphics, video, static html) for the websites including high-loaded.

The cloud storage is built using Openstack Swift technology - joint development of the American cloud hosting of Rackspace and NASA. For fast content distribution that is especially important for the loaded websites, own development based on the Russian nginx Web server is used.

Tariffing of service is performed according to the place taken by files and the outbound traffic. The storage changes the size depending on the number of files automatically so it is not necessary to make any operations on adding of capacity. The cost of use of storage is 0.01 rubles in one hour of storage of 1 GB and 1 ruble for distribution of 1 GB.

The cloud storage from Clodo - the new offer for our market, creators claim. In foreign market there are a little enough known similar services, it is, for example, Amazon S3 and Rackspace Files. Nevertheless, in Clodo consider that the proximity of the distributing node to the consumer of content is extremely important for fast content delivery: otherwise speed will practically not manage to be provided with any technical methods. So it also should become the main competitive advantage for the Russian users.

Kominfo Consulting estimates the Russian market of content delivery networks (CDN) at $5-7 million a year. At this market there are two operators, one of whom dominates from shares about 95%.

At this CDN remain in Russia service for large customers with big budgets. "The cloud storage of Clodo is not a content delivery network, but in a large number of cases can perform the same functions. It is focused first of all on an average and small segment of web development and designed to make services in content distribution to a wide range of web developer", - say in Clodo.

According to founders of service, the overcast of the solution provides a low threshold of an input and lack of need of capital costs. The storage supports not only a public access to files, but also gives the chance to limit access rights. Thanks to it it can also be used for storage of private or corporate information.

As respondents of TAdviser experts reported  in spite of the fact that in the Russian market cloud solutions so far at the initial stage of development, already now solutions similar new Clodo services are proposed by several companies of a similar profile. Nevertheless, the new competitive offer from one more provider will help to inform more actively of all opportunities and advantages of cloud solutions potential users once again, market participants consider.
