DIM TV starts operation of basic studio of multimedia digital on-air broadcasting

The Technoserv company completed the project of "turnkey" creation of the central head-end of network of interactive multimedia digital on-air broadcasting in the Kyrgyz Republic within the project of educational television Alippe.TV. under the contract with DIM TV company.

In fact

Within the contract Technoserv executed a full range of the works necessary for preparation of a central station of network of the educational Alippe.TV project for start in operation, including delivery, installation and commissioning. As the central device of the platform of digital on-air TV and radio broadcasting of educational channel Alippe.TV the solution Harmonic intended for formation of packets of digital programs was selected.

About the Solution

The proposed solution provides universality in rendering all range of services of multimedia digital television, easily is scaled and adapts under requirements of the customer, the existing communications infrastructure and the main directions of the State program of transition to digital broadcasting in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Specialists of Technoserv developed the step-by-step construction plan and commissioning central and regional head-ends, allowing to minimize initial costs. After end of the first stage about 30 thousand subscribers will be able to use services of the educational project, at the same time 3 channels of educational TV will be available. The project will be finished in 2015 after transition of the country to digital broadcasting fully. The general investments into project implementation are planned at the level of over 8 million dollars.

Project

Alippe.TV1 is the project of educational interactive TV which will allow to give in real time the school educational program from 1 on 10 class to children who have no opportunity to visit shkoly2 and also to realize the potential and capabilities in separate objects to exceptional children. The project is implemented by DIM TV (Digital Interactive Multimedia TV) company with assistance of the International Telecommunication Union and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Within the project by 2015 the network of educational television for broadcasting all over the country of a multiplex from 7 television programs will be created. For broadcast of the educational channel in Bishkek the central head-end where there is all the channel-forming, receiving and transferring equipment, and in the large cities (Talas, Naryn, Karakol, Zhelalabat, Osh, Batken) – the regional head-ends connected to it will be constructed. Application of DVB-T2 standard will provide program reception on the existing home antennas, and the organization using special exchange service stations of a reverse channel for services of digital interactive TV – active participation of pupils in educational process, an opportunity to answer questions of the virtual teacher using the panel, to participate in quizzes, etc.
