MTS implemented the complex project on monitoring of transport in Sochi

JSC Mobile TeleSystems (NYSE: MBT), the telecommunication operator in Russia and the CIS countries, within the X International Investment Forum "Sochi-2011" announces start of the complex project on monitoring of Sochi city transport. Using telematic services of MTS in the city monitoring more than 3000 units of the passenger and cargo transport equipped with the mobile terminals GLONASS/GPS/GSM is conducted.

Within the project of MTS provides services on the basis of M2M-tekhnologiy1 50 transport companies of Sochi that allows to provide monitoring of the movement of city buses and share taxis, cargo and special vehicles and also cars of the ambulance and the construction equipment involved in preparation for the Olympic Games-2014. Navigator-Yug LLC acts as one of the main companies integrators of the project.

Implementation of M2M-technologies in operating activities of transport companies allows to optimize company performance logistics, to increase labor productivity at the enterprise on average on 20%2 due to accurate observance of the set routes, to reduce depreciation expenses and fuel costs due to optimization of routes, to ensure safety of transportation and to improve quality of operational management and speed of reaction in emergency situations.

The number of the SIM cards of MTS in Russia involved in telematic services according to the results of the first half of the year 2011 increased by 60% to 820 thousand.

Among the clients of MTS using solutions of telematics – the largest Russian companies providing a security system and monitoring of transport: Caesar Satellit, Megapeydzh, Echelon; large banks: Sberbank, Uralsib, Barklays, BSGV; enterprises of a power complex: Gazprom, IDGC, MUEC, Mosvodokanal.
