"The federal freight company" upgrades and develops a corporate portal

Digital Design completed the first stage of the project on creation of a corporate portal based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 in JSC The Second Freight Company. Now the portal is available more than to 350 employees of the Moscow representative office of one of the largest Russian railway operators.

Unlike other companies, very sharp growth of number of employees and a branch network is characteristic of JSC The Second Freight Company: approximately in a year in this organization will employ a significant amount of employees, the network of 14 branches across all Russia is created. Development of internal communications requires the effective tool. The corporate intranet portal of JSC VGK will also become like that.

Experts of Digital Design developed on the portal the reference book by employees, forums and the calendar of events where there is information on corporate actions, on exhibitions and conferences in which representatives of the company will participate. Besides, on the portal the news block which includes news of JSC The Second Freight Company, the transport industry of Russia and foreign countries and also publications about the company in media is developed.

The portal is also designed to increase efficiency of activity of users due to simplification of data exchange between separate divisions and branches and accelerations jointly of the carried-out tasks. The libraries of documents providing access for employees to all-corporate information (regulating documents, templates) are aimed at it, in particular. For acceleration of work on the portal such routine transactions as the order of business cards, a design of business trips, etc. are automated.

In the second half of the year 2011 it is going to make solution integration with internal information systems of "The second freight company". Until the end of 2012 it is going to distribute the solution to all 14 VGK branches of JSC, and the vast majority of employees of JSC VGK will become users of the portal.

Development

On September 24, 2012 Digital Design announced project completion of modification of a corporate portal based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 for the Customer. Upon termination of works the number of users of a system increased from 350 to 1500.

Within the project advanced functionality of the VGK corporate portal. In a system there were nodes of branches for effective information exchange in divisions, the publication of news, placement of the normative, regulating and reference documents. Also the special section "Corporate magazine" intended for raznoformatny corporate materials was created, headings for labor union and Occupational Safety and Health Administration are added.

Since then our company grew quantitatively and qualitatively, the branch network was created, a number of new business processes appeared. Therefore the decision on modification of the existing corporate system and expansion of its functionality was made.
