The Volga-Dnieper group successfully presents more than 20 years the Russian cargo civil aviation at international market, being the world leader in a segment of transportations of superheavy and bulky goods. Two leading cargo airlines of Russia – Volga-Dnieper and Airbridzhkargo are its part.
In 2008 the Volga-Dnieper Group started project implementation of creation of own network of the certified service stations and repair of the aircrafts of the Russian and foreign production (MRO) integrated under the Volga-Dnieper Tekhniks brand. Now the centers "Volga-Dnieper Tekhniks" are open in Moscow (Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo), Krasnoyarsk, Ulyanovsk, Sharjah (UAE), Leipzig (Germany). The company works on creation of the modern, conforming to the international standards TOIR multi-profile center in the territory of the Port special economic zone in Ulyanovsk and also implements a number of projects on construction of hangars in Sharjah, Leipzig and within the Moscow airline hub.
From 90th in Group as a single corporate system of enterprise management the ERP solution of SAP thanks to which many business processes were optimized and improved is used. However still some divisions "Volga-Dnieper Tekhniks" used other information systems.
In division "Volga-Dnieper Tekhniks" in the UAE till spring of 2011 used the IC Sage ERP X3 which did not allow to conduct business activities in full accordance with corporate regulations of Volga-Dnieper Group.
The management of Group made the decision on implementation of ERP SAP in this division. The partner in implementation selected ALPE consulting company. The project was executed rapidly – in 4 months. Consultants of ALPE consulting used ASAP Focus methodology for implementation of a packet of SAP Best Practices Baseline that allowed to minimize project risks and to lower the total costs of the Customer. The template of the standard solution was adapted by specialists of ALPE consulting for requirements of regional division and corporate regulations of formation of financial statements.
Shajner Alexander, the CEO of ALPE consulting, says that he "despite complexity of the project and its geography, experience of ALPE consulting company in the field of implementing solutions of SAP allowed to implement this project with the minimum time and finance costs and to achieve all effective objectives".
The factors complicating implementation in so short time were remoteness of division; need of mastering of a broad spectrum of functionality by each employee. Besides, preparation of start of productive operation in April, 2011 introduced need of input in the system of data on accounting transactions in three months since the beginning of year.
Start of a system in commercial operation by specialists of ALPE consulting company took place at the scheduled time. Project Results:
- division "Volga Dnieper of Tekhniks" in the UAE keeps financial accounting in the system conforming to corporate requirements;
- the uniform principles of data structure, accounting of economic transactions, fixed assets and inventory stocks are developed and implemented;
- integration of accomplishment of accounting operations on inventory stocks and fixed assets with financial accounting;
- control of reserves of materials in warehouses of division is provided;
- an opportunity of correct calculation and the analysis of cost value of repair of aircrafts is had;
- the ability to integrate data into a single corporate system is provided.
Kolesnikov Yury, the director of information technology of Volga-Dnieper Group, estimating project perspectives, it is sure that the uniform approved principles of business processes will allow to cut down considerably further expenses on support and development of the information management system. "As, core business of division is repair and maintenance of aircrafts and also charter freight transportation, for us it is extremely important to receive the effective tool for calculation and the analysis of cost value of repair by the following cost items: spare parts and components, personnel operating time, operating time and equipment checkouts, indirect allowances, etc. The system of SAP allows to cope with assigned tasks for 100%".
