Receiving military orders for a record $84 billion

In early August 2023, information appeared that the largest British defense sector corporation BAE Systems received orders for the supply of weapons and military equipment for a record £66.2 billion (approximately $83.68 billion at the exchange rate as of August 3, 2023).

It is noted that in the current geopolitical situation, the demand for weapons, ammunition and military equipment has grown sharply. Western allies supporting Ukraine are increasing their own reserves, while in the Asia-Pacific region, rising defense spending is associated with existing threats.

British defense company BAE Systems received military orders for a record $84 billion

BAE Systems, which makes submarines, fighter jets, combat vehicles and other equipment, records an increase in orders from many customers, the largest of which are the United States, Saudi Arabia and Australia, The Times reported. In particular, in 2023, the corporation signed a contract for the supply of weapons and equipment in accordance with the British program for the modernization of the nuclear submarine fleet for $3 billion. An agreement worth $2.3 billion was signed with the Czech Republic, providing for the production of infantry fighting vehicles CV90 MkIV, which will be used "to maintain national sovereignty." Partisans cut 60 cables on frigate HMS Glasgow under construction

1999: Founding the company through the merger of British Aerospace and Marconi Electronic Systems

1965
