The fire nearly destroyed DPC of the New York Stock Exchange

As a result of the fire which arose because of problems with power supply on Sunday in DPC of the New York Stock Exchange in the city of Mavakh, State of New Jersey, communication lines of 58 trading companies suffered, but the exchange does not expect any failures in work and on Monday October 10 its systems operated normally.

Ignition happened in one of cabinets of a data processing center, and was quickly extinguished, Ray Pellecchia, the representative of NYSE Euronext company, in property and under control of which there is a DPC told. As a result of an incident nobody suffered.

Traders, whose communications were affected, notified on carrying out additional tests of all systems and on resuming of normal work on Monday, noted Pelekia. "We are grateful for fast and accurate work of fire and police departments Mavakh and also collective of our data processing center", - he told.

The data processing center in Mavakh is more than 100 thousand sq.m of the area. On an object round the clock there are employees who were trained for response to the arising ignitions and other emergencies.

As well as most large DPCs, an object it is equipped with temperature control systems in halls and notifications in case of sudden changes. Similar data processing centers are equipped also with systems reacting to emergence of smoke or is warm, and are connected with fire extinguishing systems.

NYSE does not announce details fire extinguishing.

DPC in Mavakh – one of two hi-tech projects created by NYSE Euronext company for work of its own trading systems and also the customers aiming to get the most quick access to data on the markets. The second DPC is in Great Britain, near London.
