Comodo Backup 4.0.6
The Comodo company announced in October, 2011 availability of upgraded version of the desktop application of Comodo Backup 4.0.6 and announced the new service Comodo Online Storage allowing clients to place backup copies of important data in personal online storage.
One of the most noticeable improvements provided to versions of Comodo Backup 4.0.6 is the intuitive interface which step by step will spend users through all process of data backup. Owners of computers will be able to note necessary files and folders on the hard drive and to provide their sending to local, external or online storage.
Important feature of version 4.0.6 is support of the intellectual Smart Profiles profiles which automatically scan the PC in document retrievals, of digital pictures, video and audiofiles and allow to execute backup of the corresponding contents simply and quickly. Separate profiles are provided to users for archiving of electronic correspondence, browser data and game preserving. Clients will be able to create and configure own profiles intended for formation of backup copies of the system registry, the chosen files and folders or contents of disk sections.
The version of Comodo Backup 4.0.6 is closely integrated with new web service Comodo Online Storage. The client software for work with online storage is established on the computer in the course of installation of the desktop application or can be loaded separately. 5 GB of space on the server are free of charge offered to each user of Comodo Online Storage, and if necessary it is possible to increase the capacity of storage to 250 GB at additional expense.
The Comodo Online Storage service provides two different methods of archiving of data. Local files and folders can be synchronized with web storage from a context menu. This method allows to save quickly backup copies of files after making changes. The alternative option assumes moving of files, directories, tabs, links and text fragments by the mouse cursor to special "zones of drop". The objects moved in such a way are supplied with Dropped Files mark, and access to them can be got directly from Windows Explorer conductor.
