NIIAS models a passenger traffic at stations of Sochi 2014

Customers: Russian Railways (RR)

Product: AnyLogic

Project date: 2011/09

Within the project on development of technology of the organization of the movement and security of passengers simulation models of 5 stations on combined automobile and the railroad Adler — the Alpika-service mountain resort were created. This way athletes and the audience will reach to mountain stadiums and ice arenas. It is supposed that capacity by rail will make up to 8.5 thousand passengers per hour and on the highway - up to 11.5 thousand per hour. Trains will go with an interval of 6-8 minutes. Based on modeling the decision installation of tourniquets at stations was made to make only after the Olympic Games as they slow down a passenger traffic.

For simulation of a passenger traffic, as close as possible to life, the technology of agentny modeling was used. It is the only approach in simulation modeling considering individual behavior of passengers. Together with agentny and in smaller scale in the project the method of discrete and event modeling using which train service was imitated was applied. All modeling was conducted using AnyLogic software, developed by the Russian company "Ex-Jay Teknolodzhis". The tool supports all existing methods of simulation modeling and has powerful library for modeling of train service and passengers. In March, 2011 on the basis of this tool modeling of pedestrian flows on the Eiffel Tower was carried out what it was already announced in the press.

Having received the main results of modeling, specialists of JSC NIIAS at the moment continue work on the project, taking into account new conditions and adding of different restrictions. According to the employee of JSC NIIAS A. Ignatenkov simulation modeling at design of new ways / stations is used almost always. In particular on the basis of this technology calculation of time of the notification of passengers on the platform about approach of the high-speed train Sapsan and modeling of the movement of electric trains on a double-track insert (bridge) of projectible high-speed section Moscow Smolenskaya – Usovo was carried out. Both above-mentioned projects were custom-made by JSC NIIAS the Russian Railway.
