Acronis True Image Home 2012

The Acronis company, software developer for backup and data recovery, announced in October, 2011 product output of Acronis True Image Home 2012 (ATI Home 2012) in Russian. Let's remind that versions of ATI Home 2012 in the English, German and French languages appeared in August of this year. In Europe their recommended retail price is 49.95 euros.

The recommended retail price of ATI Home 2012 in Russia is 1015 rub, in case of upgrade from the previous version (ATI Home 2010) — 609 rub. The packet of ATI Home 2012 Family Pack including three licenses costs 1748.25 rub. A set of additions ATI Home 2012 Plus Pack which allows to recover the computer on other hardware can be purchased at the price of 609 rub.

Features of ATI Home 2012:

• expanded support of high-capacity disks (more than 2 Tb) even in those operating systems which do not support such disks;
• the technology of continuous protection 'nonstop a backup' is compatible to network NAS drives now and loads network less;
• support of network NAS drives — now they are automatically determined as independent devices;
• the upgraded graphical interface.

The Acronis company officially released in April, 2012 the second update to the complete solution Acronis True Image Home 2012 for backup and creation of disk images on house ^[1].

Initially conceived as the tool for creation, copying and recovery of disk images, the packet of Acronis True Image Home became now a universal backup system which supports work with any files and personal parameters, provides synchronization of data and backup in online storage. At the same time all opportunities for management of sections on hard drives and to copying of disk images remain.

Updating of Update 2 offers a number of new useful tools among which an intellectual task scheduler of Scheduler Smart Start and the module of scanning of Archives Scanning Management archives.

Besides, numerous errors are corrected. Debuggings cover a set of aspects in operation of application, including processing of exclusive situations, installation of components of a product, backup and data recovery. In particular, the error because of which the Start-up button in the environment of Windows disappeared after creation of the backup copy of a system, an error with absence of network storages in the list of places for backup is corrected and also an error at which the user selected one archive for removal, and other archive actually was removed.

The Scheduler Smart Start function is intended, mainly, for start of the built-in scheduler of True Image Scheduler when monitoring of a system shows that some operations on service are necessary, and the scheduler for any reasons is not started.

The Archives Scanning Management technology gives the chance to specify whether automatic scanning of files with TIB images at start of the main True Image application is necessary. The technology is intended for increase in overall performance of a product in daily work.

The new kernel of Linux expands the list of the supported equipment when using abnormal boot Linux carrier and others with Linux components.

Acronis True Image Home 2012 Updating 2.1

Updating 2.1 adds new features and the improved support of USB carriers, systems on the basis of UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) and also the updated Linux kernel for the boot carrier which is used for recovery includes. Acronis® True Image™ Home 2012 allows to create backup copies of data, to recover the operating system and user data and also to synchronize information between several PCs.

What changed?

• Scheduler Smart Start. The feature for setup of time of start of the scheduler of backup is added.
• Archives Scanning Management. There was a possibility of automatic scanning of files of a backup (* .TIB) during start of the program.
• Disk Cloning. Disk cloning function is improved.
• Improved Hardware Support in Linux. The core and a number of the Linux components for the improved support of the hardware boot carriers based on Linux which is used for recovery is updated.
