Dassault pressed Sage in the rating of the European software developers

The updated rating of vendors of the software of Europe made by Truffle Capital company showed that Sage gave in and became the third number after SAP and Dassault Systemes. The research Truffle 100 Europe was conducted with assistance of the European Commissioner Neelie Kroes and in cooperation with analysts of groups IDC and CXP.

Important changes happened in the first five: SAP still wins first place in the market of Europe, Dassault Systemes – the second. In 2010 this place was taken by Sage which became the third now. Software AG still on the fourth place of the list, and DATEV holding the 14th place of rating in 2009 moved to the fifth now. For the company it is big break.

In 2010 turnover of vendors of the software of France, according to Truffle 100 Europe, made 11.2% of the all-European turnover (small increase in comparison with 11.4% in 2009), taking the third place after Germany (50.3%) and Great Britain (18.6%).

Total income grew by 14% in 2010 and reached €30.9 billion in comparison with €27.1 billion in 2009. 89.2% of this amount generated 25 companies, the best in rating (in 2009 this digit corresponded to 79%).

49 vendors announced revenue over €100 million (47 in 2009) and 85 suppliers earned more than €50 million (72 in 2009). All companies entering the rating of Truffle 100 Europe gained income exceeding €25 million.

Profits grew from €3.7 billion in 2009 to €5.8 billion in 2010. Positions R&D (RESEARCH) in the companies grew from 54180 in 2009 to 55268 in 2010 also a little. Investments in R&D significantly increased: from €3.82 billion in 2009 to €4.44 billion in 2010 (growth of 15.7%).

Let's add that the Sophos company is in the 22nd place of rating, the 31st place is held by Qliktech, Otello Corporation (the former Opera Software) on the 58th position, and the place at number 100 is taken by Delcam company.
