Overland Storage announced the storage area network intended for the enterprises of medium and small business in October, 2011. Innovation can easily work with information both at the level of data units, and at the level of files in borders of one controller. The provided SnapServer DX series is, in fact, a certain hybrid of the storage area network (SAN) which is controlled through the iSCSI protocol, and network system of data storage (NAS).

This array of data storage devices can be connected according to two schemes: RAID 6 and RAID 5, and is also easily scaled, proceeding from constantly increasing requirements of the enterprises. In a series two lines are issued: DX1 and DX2 with heights, respectively, 1U and 2U. The first of them supports no more than 100 one-time connections to the storage system (SS), and the second model – to 500 simultaneous connections.

DX1 with a total amount of memory of 2 Terabytes is on sale Overland Storage company on 1699 dollars for one device, and DX2 with 8 Terabytes of available space for information storage will cost already 4499 dollars. Besides, there is an opportunity to buy in addition expansion units for significant increase in volume of DWH, however their cost of the general public is not disclosed.
