The project on creation of the protected corporate network (IP VPN) based on the equipment Cisco for Rosfort

The system integrator NGO Echelon Ltd completed the project on creation of the protected corporate network (IP VPN) based on the equipment Cisco for Rosfort – one of the largest companies in Khabarovsk selling the footwear owning "Footwear for All Family" retail network.

Basis of IP VPN was the intellectual architecture of Cisco SBA (Smart Business Architecture) which allows to arrange internal information resources, ensures safety and high availability of corporate data, servers and applications and also reduces the total cost of upgrade and operation of an information system. Simplicity of integration and flexibility of the solution give the chance to quickly unroll IP VPN on wire and to wireless communication links.

Upgrade of network infrastructure allowed Rosfort company to make the database and the used business applications more available to the staff of five shops located in the large districts of Khabarovsk, having minimized at the same time the threats connected with violation of safety of information transfer.

"At the organization of retail the corporate network conforming to high quality requirements and safety of information transfer promotes increase in level of sales returns, sales market expansion, increase in employee performance and effectiveness of partner interaction. For this reason our trading company made the decision on construction of IP VPN based on the products Cisco. Within the project we transferred network infrastructure to the equipment of Cisco company, having selected intellectual architecture of Cisco SBA for the organization of network, – the deputy CEO of Rosfort LLC Vitaly Zayarny tells. – Thanks to a possibility of quick access to necessary information from any mobile device, including notebooks and communicators, in a month after start of network in operation the efficiency of our remote workers increased by 30 percent, and the sales volume of the company increased by 15 percent. Besides, by our calculations, implementing solution will allow the company to reduce annual costs on maintenance of IT infrastructure by 12 percent".

In many network architectures observance of the requirement of high data availability increases complexity of use of the equipment, doing fault finding by more labor-consuming. Because of it the companies are forced to look for a compromise between high availability of information and simplicity of operation of network equipment. Cisco SBA solves this problem, reducing complexity of structure without loss in availability. At new architecture a flexible, failsafe and scalable core without the expressed border between the capital and spare equipment – a so-called floating core. Such approach simplifies a configuration of a core of network for 80% and provides very fast maintenance in case of failures.

For security accreditation of data transmission and use of business applications in intellectual architecture of Cisco SBA Cisco ASA firewalls (Adaptive Security Appliance) integrating functions of the firewall, the cryptographic gateway and an intrusion prevention system for reflection of the attacks from the Internet are implemented. Consolidation of functions in Cisco ASA allows to reduce the number of the devices necessary for ensuring safe connection of users, from six to two. Thanks to it the structure of network becomes simpler, the number of devices, to work with which IT specialists should study, decreases, and hardware maintenance cost is reduced.

All advantages of the corporate network built based on Cisco SBA extend both to wire, and to wireless links of data transmission.
