The software of MathWorks MATLAB represents a high-level language of technical calculations, an interactive development environment of algorithms and the modern instrument of data analysis. 2014:MATLAB & Simulink
On October 20, 2014 the Softline company announces an exit of the updated product line of MATLAB & Simulink. In MATLAB the new graphic system, the improved support of Big Data, function of packaging and distribution of applications, integration with control systems of versions appeared. Simulink had an opportunity of fast creation of model and restart of simulations. Key updates are the new graphical interface with more evident display 2D and 3D of diagrams, expanded data visualization, support of multiple palettes and a possibility of use of tabs (tab) in the user interface. For convenience of joint work support of control systems of versions of GitHub and SubVersion is implemented. This function will be especially useful to dispersed teams.
Developers in the MATLAB language will be able to pack the ready programs (tulboksa) into one installed file for simple distribution now. The full support of many types of low-cost hardware, such as Arduino, Raspberri Pi and others will be useful to teachers and students.
Updates for products of the MATLAB R2014b family include:
- new graphic system of MATLAB;
- new features for processing of Big Data at once on the user's computer which can be scaled using Hadoop and MapReduce;
- integration with control systems of versions of Git and Subversion and access to projects to GItHub with File Exchange;
- packaging of tulboks in one installed file for simple downloading and distribution of the developed tulboks;
- data types "date" and "time" with support of time zones and options of display;
- support of platforms of Arduino for interaction with motors and drives and Android for data access of sensors of devices;
- MATLAB Production Server: client libraries for use with C/C ++ and Python
- Statistics Toolbox: a multiclass framework for machine learning for binary classifiers, such as SVM and also for generalized linear models (GLME);
- Datafeed Toolbox: connection of Bloomberg B-PIPE and Thomson Reuters Eikon
- Image Processing Toolbox: the application for segmentation of images, applications for the analysis of areas of images, and code generation of C for 19 functions with MATLAB Coder.
New opportunities of Simulink for more effective development of the built-in systems include:
- smart hints for the accelerated creation of model and regime of the editor for summaries and determination of interfaces;
- the accelerated restart of modeling for quick consecutive start of model;
- the Simulink functions for a call from any place of Simulink and Stateflow;
- the improved editor of Simulation Data Inspector with animation and cursors.
In release of R2014b solutions for signal processing and communication, code generation, verification and validation are updated and improved. All change concerned 81 products.
"Support of ARM Cortex-A processors, systems on a crystal of Altera and Cyclone V and integration with a development environment for Xilinx Vivado COTTON VELVET will allow the Russian developers to implement approach of the model focused design quicker. And support of MapReduce and Hadoop technologies will be especially useful to customers of Softline who regularly face processing of large volumes of data (Big Data), for example, of the results of tests or statistics which are saved up for many years", - Nikita Bogoslavsky, the Head of Department of MathWorks of Softline company told.
