THE DPC IS UPHOLSTERED

In October, 2011 the first stage of new data center of IS UPHOLSTERED company in St. Petersburg is brought into commercial operation.

Object is intended both for placement of the equipment of clients, and under own needs of the company. Investments into the project made 15 million rubles.

Construction of data center was conducted within a year. The area of the object is 400 sq.m, the premises are in long-term lease. The data center "is UPHOLSTERED" completed with 60 telecommunication cabinets and expected placement of 2,400 items of equipment. The data center is included in a city trunk ring of the company by capacity of 10 Gbps three independent fiber optic cables and also the Internet is connected by external channels to the Russian and western network segments.

Hardware of an object corresponds to a high class of reliability and security. Regular power supply of data center on the first category is provided using the main TP and the 500 kW abnormal DGU. Total power of the given electric power equals 305 kW. An object is equipped with a conditioning system in 102 kW. Also in data center the gas fire extinguishing system is installed. Duty employees "is UPHOLSTERED" perform technical support of an object round the clock.

About 50% of the area of new data center will be used under own needs of the company, 20% - under placement of the equipment of the current clients, and the remained 30% - under sale. In plans of IS UPHOLSTERED company - to reach almost complete fullness of data center by February, 2012. An expected payback period – 5 years.

"The decision on construction of new data center was dictated first of all by production needs of the company: in 2008 we started our first data center of 300 sq.m which was generally used for placement of the equipment. By this moment the lease term of the premises ended therefore the new data center was constructed. Besides, we expect commercial success of this object at clients as similar premises, especially there is not enough high-class reliability and security, in St. Petersburg still catastrophically", - the CEO of OBIT LLC Guk Andrey told.

Input in commercial operation of the second queue of data center "is UPHOLSTERED" planned for January, 2012. At the same time the total area of an object will be expanded up to 700 sq.m, electric power – up to 500 kW.

The telecom operator "is UPHOLSTERED" put in the fall of 2013 into operation the new machine hall in data center in St. Petersburg, having brought its total useful area to 700 sq.m. Planned input of new capacities is caused by growth of business of the company and demand for services of data center from clients.

Investments into building of the second queue of data center of 300 sq.m expected placement of 90 racks with the equipment made more than 30 million rubles.

The first stage of data center was brought into operation in 2011. Its useful area was 400 sq.m where 100 server cabinets are placed.

Hardware of an object corresponds to a high class of reliability and security. Regular power supply on the first category is provided with connection to two transformer substations and multi-layer system of abnormal reservation.

Object is equipped with a conditioning system and gas fire extinguishing. The data center is connected to a backbone network of data transmission of the operator by three independent optical fiber cables and connected with all significant points of exchange of traffic of St. Petersburg, Europe and Moscow. Physical protection is provided with a double cordon of protection, a control system of access and the disturbing button.
