Harmony Gateway is implemented in MTS

Announced JSC Mobile TeleSystems in October, 2011 start of the Harmony Gateway platform for compression of traffic at data transmission in mobile networks that allows to reduce load time of content and web pages and to increase the speed of work of the mobile Internet of MTS.

The Harmony Gateway platform will transform a photo, video and other data for the fastest loading depending on from what user device the subscriber goes on-line – the mobile phone, the tablet or the personal computer using the 3G-modem. The special mechanism of buffering which allows the user to watch stream video in process of loading without preliminary downloading of all video is used to unloading of mobile networks when viewing a streaming video.

MTS started a pilot project on testing of technology for all subscribers in Murmansk. Until the end of 2011 new technologies of optimization of traffic will is available to all users of the unlimited mobile Internet of MTS in Russia. The Flash Networks company acted as the developer and the supplier of the solution.

"The solution which was implemented by MTS will provide to our clients faster and comfortable work on the Internet, at the same time the modern technology of a compression of the text and a multimedia content applied by Flash Networks allows to perform data translation almost imperceptibly for a human eye" — the director of the department of data services Sergey Stepanyuk noted. — Application of the platform on optimization of traffic will allow MTS to unload networks of mobile data transmission almost for 40% and also to lower load of a transport network of the company by 30% that as a result will positively affect the speed of work of subscribers on the global area network and will increase service quality of data transmission".
