"10 Strike: Monitoring of Network" 2.0

The developer company of network software 10-Strike Software submitted in November, 2011 the new version of the product for system administrators "10 Strike: Monitoring of Network" 2.0. The program represents the powerful tool for detection of failures in work of network services and protocols, bringing information on a status of active network equipment (servers, workstations, printers, etc.) to the system administrator and also helps to fix quickly arisen problems in network of the enterprise.

The mechanism of periodic accomplishment of checks of crucial devices and services in network is the cornerstone of a program runtime. The system administrator is timely notified on the detected failures in several ways: e-mail, a sound signal, the message on the screen. Besides, the program conducts fixing of all events in magazines with detailed interpretation of malfunctions and time of their detection. "10 Strike: Monitoring of Network" works in the background. The module of monitoring is implemented as a Windows service, and it means that for its start it is not necessary to execute login under any user. It is only enough to turn on the computer (that is convenient when functioning on round the clock working servers).

In the mechanism of monitoring of the program a large number of test checks of different network services and protocols is implemented. In particular, with the help "10 Strike: Monitoring of Network" it is equally successfully possible to monitor as a status of network connections or databases, and some parameters of performance of active network equipment, such as routers and switches (under the SNMP protocol).

Program "10 Strike: Monitoring of Network" can not only passively state about the happened problem, but also independently try to eliminate it, having performed in advance configured operation: reboot or turn on the computer, restart service, run the user application with parameters or any script.

In new version 2.0 of the program there were new opportunities for acceptance of messages from different network devices, such as: switches, UPS, sensors of opening of the equipment by means of the mechanism of SNMP traps (SNMP traps). Similar messages are sent by devices to notify the network administrator on critical events. For example, some types of uninterruptible power supply units can send messages in case the equipment passes into a diet from batteries. Such situations require immediate intervention of service staff. Having accepted the similar message from the device, the program "10 Strike: Monitoring of Network" without delay will execute sending the SMS for the set number (direct connection of cell phones to the computer is supported), will send the e-mail, will include sound signaling and will record an event in the system magazine, or will complete the work of the computer.

One more important innovation is a possibility of monitoring of event logs of remote Windows computers in the local area network. The event log - the irreplaceable tool of the system administrator. First of all after failure in work of any service or Windows in general the administrator begins to watch the log entries of events preceding this failure. The program offers more advanced mechanism of work with the magazine – automatic monitoring of the event log Windows with search of records in the filter configured by the administrator and the notification about critical events. For example, it is possible to notify only on errors or to trace messages from any specific program or service.

2015: There was a release "10 Strike: Monitoring of Pro Network" v.1

On July 16, 2015 company "10 Strike" submitted the program for monitoring of network equipment and server applications on the distributed networks "10 Strike: Monitoring of Pro Network" 1.0.

According to the statement of developers, a system represents a powerful multicomponent complex of monitoring and the analysis of operating conditions of network devices, detection of emergency situations and failures in work of network services and protocols and also for the emergency notification of service staff about the arising problems.

The distributed architecture of a system has potential of placement of the centers of monitoring in remote networks, at the same time all of them will work with uniform SQL the Firebird database for storage of settings and survey results. It allows to organize monitoring of the big and closed branch networks of the organizations, to store and browse all results of the carried-out inspections in one place. The program is capable how to signal about accidents, different events (signals from opening sensors, etc.) and also deviations of parameter values from the set limits (tension in the UPS, temperature of switches, the signal levels in fiber amplifiers), and to accumulate statistics and to display diagrams of change of parameters in time. Administrators have an opportunity to analyze trends and to fix problems before development of critical situations.

Components of a complex are developed, both on one Windows-PK, and on several servers. A server part for ensuring web access and the database are cross-platform and can take place not only on Windows servers. At the same time unsophisticated users have an opportunity to set and start a system literally in five-ten minutes, all necessary components are delivered with the program and can be set from one file and are automatically configured for work with each other.

The program is created on the platform "10 Strike: Monitoring of Network", which, in turn - on product 10-Strike LANState Pro (a product of 2003).

The system of the distributed monitoring absorbed in itself 12 years' experiment of the company on development of monitor programs of networks and the equipment. Within the last year the program actively was tested and succeeded to reach performance to 10 thousand checks (SNMP and other) on one node of the monitoring representing the multiprocessor productive server.

Properties of a product:

• the web interface allowing not only to browse results of monitoring, but also to change settings and to create new checks, using only the web browser. I.e. practically all functionality of the main program is duplicated in the web version which works on any PCs and mobile devices.

• component - removed agents who it is possible to install on remote PCs and servers under Windows and to conduct poll of some parameters locally. For example, it is possible to control temperature of the processor or speed of fans in the PC. These types of checks are new and were earlier unavailable at Windows computers poll on network.
