On January 30, 2013 the Symantec corporation announced Symantec System Recovery 2013 − an end-to-end system of backup in which the full support of such platforms is implemented as Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and vSphere 5.1. With the new version system recovery became even more effective and more clear thanks to the simplified installation, process optimization of backup and reconciliation, the free centralized control system and more clear diagnostic system of faults. Symantec System Recovery 2013 gives to the companies the chance only a few minutes to perform recovery of the physical and virtual systems, including "from scratch", on the differing equipment, in virtual environments and far off.

New features of the latest version strengthen positions of Symantec System Recovery as the leading product on disaster recovery and data protection for the companies of any sizes even more. Symantec System Recovery 2013 supports all last platforms and applications, the new solution on management for large-scale deployment includes and allows to reduce a backup window, having provided a copying speed gain to 75%.

Symantec System Recovery 2013 presents the high quality solution for backup of information on servers, the desktop systems, notebooks and virtual machines, allowing the companies to recover in read minutes work of systems after idle times and accidents. By means of the patented Restore Anyware technology system administrators can recover now those data which are necessary for them then where they need it. It, including, means recovery "from scratch", on the differing equipment and also recovery of separate folders, files and elements of applications. Symantec System Recovery also includes instruments of cross-platform recovery from the physical machine on virtual (P2V), from virtual on virtual (V2V) and from virtual on physical (V2P) that is important expansion of tools on work in virtual and physical environments.

  • UEFI Support support: now in addition to BIOS'a Symantec System Recovery supports loading from UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface);

  • Smart reconciliation: effective creation of copies and also reconciliation are performed by tracking of the changed blocks. Time of reconciliation is reduced by only a few seconds due to the lack of need for complete reconciliation for cases of falling and sudden shutdowns of a system. At the same time it is possible:
    • incremental backup without reconciliation – growth of speed at least by 35% in comparison with Symantec System Recovery 2011;
    • complete backup – the speed of creation of backup copies in comparison with Symantec System Recovery 2011 increased at least by 15%;
    • incremental backup with reconciliation – growth of speed at least by 750% in comparison with Symantec System Recovery 2011;

  • The improved version of Symantec System Recovery Linux Edition allows to perform incremental backup now and also to set the schedule for copying.
