Automation of the distribution center of retail chain stores Matrix

On the first of August, 2007 old and effective cooperation of Service Plus group and Universal-Trading LLC came to a new step of development: the distribution center of retail chain stores Matrix earned under control of the WMS system of WarehouseExpert implemented by the staff of Service Plus group.

Retail chain stores Matrix — one of the most popular in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Now the network contains 21 supermarkets in Ufa, 8 — in other cities of the republic and one hypermarket in Moscow.

At the first stage it was succeeded to resolve issues of optimization of work of a warehouse regarding implementation of the tough algorithms of acceptance of goods covering all options of deliveries including — the quantities of the delivered goods connected with exceeding over ordered; acceptance of the articles which are not included in the order; deliveries of one order by several vehicles during an indefinite period.

Implementation of mechanisms of an accurate and transparent warehouse management system almost completely saved warehouse workers from need to resolve the following issues: placement of the arriving batches; selection of orders taking into account weight and dimensional product characteristics; determination of the place where there are goods at the moment (including and for the goods which are selected by orders); a rapid turnover of food products with small storage life; collecting of complete and up-to-date information on a warehouse at any time; obtaining aggregated data about work of employees of the distribution center; carrying out local and global inventories.

Deep integration of the WMS system with software the Supermagician allowed to minimize training of operators, to facilitate process of implementation of new software and work of staff of the center with it, not to enter the additional manual transactions characteristic of insufficiently complete combination of two systems. At the moment there is an inclusion in a field of activity of the WMS system of all transactions, work-related a transit zone of the alcoholic products traditionally difficult for automation.

In development plans for the distribution center — use of a branch line and inclusion in the WMS system of automation of transactions of loading/shipment of goods.
