Principle of work
Fundamentals of technology - the special pigmental ink, capable to save a firm status at the room temperature, melting at a temperature over 60 °C and instantly hardening at insignificant cooling.
Printing process differs from laser technology. At tverdochernilny technology electrostatic transfer of the image, a dry toner and its roasting on the carrier is not used.
Printing process consists of four stages:
- Preparation for printing. At the beginning of printing process the special shaft imposes the thinnest layer of silicone oil on a heated drum for the correct transfer of ink (simplification of process of separation of ink from the warmed drum).
- Creation of the image for one pass. Solid ink is kindled and comes to reservoirs of the printing head. The printing head applies on the rotating drum at the same time all four ink colors.
- Transfer of the image. Transfer of the image on slightly warmed up paper is made at the time of its passing between a drum and a capstan idler.
- Fixing of ink. After transfer of ink from a drum on the sheet, they instantly cool down and harden. The similar simple printing mechanism provides reliability of operation of the device and durability of its parts. At the same time such simple mechanism allows to reach advantages of both a laser, and inkjet printing. So, for example, in a heated status ink has necessary viscosity for mixing of flowers with each other: thus, the advantages inherent to jet technology are reached. And at transfer of ink on the sheet, they get into paper, without spreadings (as at an inkjet printing) and without diffusion of a toner (as at a laser printing) as instantly cool down and harden, firmly being fixed on the sheet.
Properties of the ink made on the basis of wax provide stable printing quality on a broad spectrum of materials. Moreover, the tverdochernilny technology of printing allows to apply ink even on such non-standard carriers as the processed paper, stickers, textured paper, films, etc. Ink gets on material and is absorbed more deeply, than the charged toner postponed for paper. Thanks to the structure, ink renders bright and saturated colors and also softness of lines and tsvetoperekhod.
Advantages and shortcomings of technology
Reproduction of bright colors practically on any surface, an excellent scope sRGB gamma CMYK ink; simple construction of the mechanism of color print performing transfer of solid ink for one pass of the carrier; high speed. There is also a shortcoming – the high expense blackened at "cold start" on preparation and calibration.
