Glosav will equip with the system of satellite monitoring the forest fire equipment of the Tver region

The Glosav company announced the beginning of project implementation on equipment by the system of satellite monitoring of the forest fire equipment of the Tver region. Glosav passes system implementation within the long-term target program for risk reduction and mitigation of the consequences of emergencies.

The Tver region more than on a half is covered with the woods. The area of forest fund is about 5 million hectares, and it is the biggest indicator in the central Russia. The woods of the Upper Volga still remain the main recreational and only filled richness of the region. However wildfires cause an essential loss and economy, and area ecology.

Need of global changes became obvious after the events of summer of 2010 when fire destroyed nearly 2 thousand hectares of the wood. For the same period of 2011 the area passed by fire decreased more than by 4.6 times.

Improvement of a situation was promoted by implementation of a number of the measures aimed at security and prevention of wildfires, in particular, strengthening of material and technical resources.

Creation in the Upper Volga of the regional forest fire center, acquisition of the new equipment and its equipment by the hi-tech system of satellite monitoring Glosav is a part of the large-scale conversions designed to strengthen in addition the system of prevention, monitoring and suppression of wildfires existing in the Tver region.

The system Glosav which is specially adapted for needs of forestry will allow to collect and process quickly information on wildfires, to keep account of forest resources in the territory of the area, to perform satellite monitoring and to predict emergence of fire-dangerous situations.

Thanks to a monitoring system Glosav workers of forest protection will have an opportunity to coordinate the actions in real time, whether it be patrol of the woods or directly liquidation of the centers of ignition. The manager of the forest fire center (departments of the center are open in Tver, the Western Dvina, Ostashkov and Maksatikha - areas of most of which of all fires traditionally are the share) will be able to exercise round the clock control of maneuvering of forces and fire extinguishing means and also their status.

One of features which technical specialists had to face Glosav is a variety of the equipped vehicles. The non-standard configuration of the equipment (truck tractors, fire tanker trucks, caterpillar all-terrain vehicles, small forest fire complexes, etc.) demanded development of dedicated circuits of placement of an aircraft equipment and laying of cables.

At a stage of a pilot zone before input of a system in operation its advantages were mentioned. Specialists of forestry estimated high data transfer rate about location of objects in real time and availability of use of a feedback with a dispatcher station.
