On December 6, 2011 the Freescale Semiconductor company announced release of the peripheral module TWR-NAVIS for the popular reference platform Tower System. The new module created together with NAVIS is intended for rapid development and design of the innovation systems based on GLONASS, such as ERA-GLONASS e-call systems, management systems for vehicle fleet and positioning as some of the fastest growing segments in the Russian market.
The module TWR-NAVIS for the GLONASS system is a chip of NAVIS GLONASS with the software and development tools. This module can be used with Freescale Kinetis or Coldfire microcontrollers for economic applications and with i.MX microprocessors for the complex high-performance systems. Now developers can quickly create a prototype of the system, combining the module TWR-NAVIS GLONASS with modules of microcontrollers or Freescale microprocessors. Thanks to real-time operating system (RTOS) of Freescale MQX which is delivered together with microcontroller/microprocessor modules designers can estimate the application, developing in parallel the software and hardware for the system.
