The CORUS Consulting group completed development and deployment of a warehouse control system for the distribution company "Negotiator Standard" working in the Far Eastern Federal District. Implementing solution on management of the warehouses Manhattan SCALE 2010 in a warehouse with limited opportunities for zoning became feature of the project.
The distribution company "Negotiator Standard" conducts the activities for four main directions: distribution, wholesale, trade through cash&carry retail network and rendering logistics services. The company is a 3PL-operator of such large producers as Nestle, Ahmad, Colgate-Palmolive. Partners of the company in distribution are the leading global and Russian manufacturers of industrial and food products: Unilever, Nestle, Ahmad, "Nevsky cosmetics", Guelder-rose and others. One of the business development purposes Negotiator Standard – expansion of a circle of partners and attraction to cooperation of large Russian and foreign brands.
For achievement of this purpose Negotiator of Standard made the decision on implementation of a new warehouse control system. On analysis results of the management systems for logistic processes and warehouse transactions presented at the Russian market, the solution based on Manhattan SCALE 2010 was selected. The solution was proposed by CORUS Consulting system integrator - the partner of Manhattan Associates in Russia. Simplicity of administration, configuring and further development of a system by own efforts, without special training of own developers, the maximum stock of functionality, optimal cost of licenses and implementation services and also such characteristics of Manhattan SCALE 2010 as 99% the accuracy of selection of orders, optimization of routes of selection, control of efficiency of a warehouse and accounting of a remaining balance in real time, successful practice of implementations in Russia and abroad became key factors of the choice.
Implementation of Manhattan SCALE 2010 was begun in June, 2011 and is complete in 5 months. The specifics of the project in many respects were defined by a difficult configuration of the equipped warehouse because of what there were difficulties at design of a configuration of zones. It was necessary to consider such features as the small area of a zone of preparation of goods for shipment, existence of "a buffer zone" for the goods prepared for placement in a warehouse, need of data processing both from RF scanners and from paper carriers. Besides, a system it was necessary to implement without stopping works of a warehouse and also to provide integration into solution 1C used for accounting and commodity accounting.
In a project deliverable for Negotiator of Standard the specialized solution which allowed to simplify process of distribution of tasks for assembly of orders, to minimize "run" of people and the equipment at selection, to optimize routing of orders within a transport corridor and also processes of acceptance, shipment and work with goods throughout all trade flow in a warehouse was developed. Implementation was conducted by a project team from specialists of CORUS Consulting and Negotiator Standard group. On each of 4 stages of the project special attention was paid to completeness and quality of the data used in a system and also system learning by users. At a stage of input of a system inventory of a warehouse was carried out to operation that allowed to begin work in a new system with correct data and to simplify its transition to the mode of commercial operation.
