The Administration of Saint Petersburg implemented "Mobile office of the head" for iPad - the solution for tablet computers and communicators providing mobile access to electronic document management systems. The solution is developed by CORUS Consulting system integrator, the project was implemented in partnership with Soft In Style company which performed customization of the solution for tasks of Smolny and integration with an electronic document management system.

"Implementation of Mobile office – a part of the large-scale project on workflow automation, - Alexander Sudakov, the head of development of software solutions of Soft In Style company comments. – In Administration already for a long time electronic document management on the EMC Documentum platform is also successfully implemented. For ensuring mobile work some time ago to heads of special-purpose committees of Smolny Apple iPad tablets which already proved the efficiency in work were purchased. Integration of iPad and the workflow system became the logical next step".

Mobile office allows the head to approve and sign documents, to consider and issue instructions, to send back documents for revision, to control execution of instructions, to perform search of the necessary documents. The system interface is focused on work in the modes of approval, the signature and consideration of documents. It is important that a system supports an opportunity for work in offline mode with already loaded documents.

Mobile office allows the head to work where it was. Taking into account specifics of work of officials of Smolny – permanent traveling and business trips – iPad and Mobile office significantly increase personal efficiency of the head and accelerate workflows, - Victor Rakhmanov, the deputy manager of the direction of electronic document management systems of Corus Consulting tells. - At least, the chain "the secretary disappears received the document from EDMS, sent by e-mail to the head, waited for the resolution, registered the document in the new status in EDMS".
