Avocent Universal Management Gateway (UMG)

Emerson Network Power provided in December, 2011 a universal control device of Avocent Universal Management Gateway (UMG) which in real time provides complex monitoring, control of service processors, control and access to all engineering and computing equipment of infrastructure of a data processing center.

Avocent Universal Management Gateway is an element of the Emerson Trellis platform and its tasks include communication between software of management and set of the computing and engineering equipment of DPC, and also, data processing of monitoring in real time. In combination with software of management for DPC, this multi-function printer provides comprehensive control of infrastructure in real time, including, thanks to the built-in functions of control of service processors of different vendors.

Providing the unprecedented level of the analysis and data management, the Trellis™ platform does possible adoption of most weighed and fast solutions, promoting increase in availability, performance and efficiency of DPC.

Avocent Universal Management Gateway, the powerful and scalable 1U control device capable to collect data in real time from sensors and thousands of items of equipment in DPC will become available to the order in February, 2012.

Avocent Universal Management Gateway collects, saves, processes, and interprets huge information volume from the different systems and the equipment, providing fast detection and the notification about problems and, as a result, their fastest permission. Also, the device provides remote access and systems management of DPC which are a kernel of the created DCIM systems.

The new release of a management system of Avocent DSView 4 which is also provided today is the first product for a continued access to infrastructure of DPC working in combination with Avocent Universal Management Gateway.

This combination of the equipment and the software allows administrators of DPC to provide remote access to management of computing and network equipment, a set of the platforms of different type which are in different geographical locations. Avocent DSView 4 purchased new opportunities, including Hyper-V virtualization support, compliance to the security level of FIPS 140-2 and a possibility of use of the open database for integration with other systems and creations of the customized reports.
