Product lifecycle management system in JSC EMAlliance

On January 16, 2012 IBS company together with JSC EMAlliance completed development of the concept of creation of the unified information system of data management within conducting construction work in engineering divisions of JSC EMAlliance.

JSC Power Machine-building Alliance (EMAlliance) – one of the largest Russian power engineering companies having the international experience and competence in design and equipment manufacturing for thermal power. Branches of the company are open in Moscow, Taganrog, Podolsk, Barnaul and Ivanov. The holding has practically the most powerful in the country scientific and practical base for design of the thermal and boiler equipment.

One of priorities of strategic development of holding are implementation in thermal and nuclear power of the solutions allowing to reduce terms and cost during the developing, construction or upgrade of the generating capacities due to use of new technologies.

According to the CEO of JSC Levan Dzigua's EMAlliance: "The company invests considerable means in development of production technologies and technologies of design. We aim to make use as much as possible of the best practices accumulated in many foreign and domestic enterprises of the knowledge-intensive industries including in the field of approaches to accomplishment of construction work, providing thereby company competitiveness growth".

Implementation of priority tasks of the company in the field of the organization of construction work is in many respects connected with implementation of the PDM solution based on the Teamcenter software product of Siemens company which, in the long term, will allow to create unified information environment for conducting construction work.

The adopted concept assumes project implementation in three stages therefore a new system which will help to implement the innovation complex approach when developing new types of a utilities equipment will be created, to optimize activity of the enterprises of JSC EMAlliance in this area, to reduce terms of new product development and to save the accumulated experience.

Distinctive feature of the implemented solution is preserving of the technology of design admitted to JSC EMAlliance using several CAD systems (AVEVA, Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad), with ensuring shared control with their data in Teamcenter.

To perform work on implementation the project team including consultants and experts of IBS, and also heads and leading specialists of EMAlliance is created. Its tasks include development and testing of the model of a system in the engineering center in Taganrog, with the subsequent replication on other branches of the company.

Now, specialists IBS and EMAlliance started accomplishment of the first stage of project implementation.
