VMware Site Recovery Manager

The Asteros company started at the end of 2011 creation of new IT infrastructure of the central office. Its basis was formed by powerful hardware solutions thanks to which costs for the project were optimized and the efficiency of information systems will be many times increased. The upgraded IT infrastructure will allow to cope with the growing business needs in the next five years.

Emergence of new business challenges forced Asteros to review requirements to own IT infrastructure. With implementation of new applications and growth of arrays of information of a possibility of the available servers and storage systems were exhausted. The company management decided to construct a new hardware complex which will provide the needs for IT resources for the next five years.

During the project in the company instead of separate servers the uniform complex based on NR blade servers of the last generation was set. On power it by 5 times exceeds former solutions. Use of a new complex of servers will help to cut down twice expenses on power supply, to optimize arrangement of the server hardware and its service.

The implemented storage system of Hitachi has the volume of disk space 30 Tbyte. On performance and reliability new DWH much more exceeds possibilities of a former system. Thanks to it the data exchange rate in the company will increase twice.

Disaster tolerance of a server framework will provide the solution VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM). It will allow to automate and simplify process of system recovery after abnormal failures within several minutes.

When implementing the project of considerable upgrade also network infrastructure will undergo. The powerful modular Cisco switches Catalyst 6500 Series will become a basis for a new subsystem of routing and the instrument of integration with services of information security support. Performance, more than by 10 times exceeding the previous indicators will be totally reached. All this will allow to increase data availability and applications.
