Alfa-Bank completed testing of the new automated banking system using the HP solution of Quality Center.
Project Task
At emergence of need for upgrade of the core banking system, IT specialists of Alfa-Bank held functional and integration testing by means of HP Quality Center to optimize functionality of the new version and to provide smoothness of transition between systems.
Solution
Testing of a new solution was broken into the subprojects corresponding to the primary functional partitions of a banking system: services for individuals, service of corporate clients and investment activities. Thanks to this connection with business processes it was succeeded to check all functionality of the core banking system carefully. Using HP Quality Center 4 thousand requirements were formulated, over 25 thousand test cases are carried out and about 800 defects are corrected. Existence of the mechanism of the automated reporting of a system of HP saved IT specialists of Alfa-Bank from accomplishment of laborious work on collecting and data filtering and therefore process of testing became more managed, transparent and productive.
Results
The HP solution allowed to reveal and eliminate the main defects. From the moment of input of the updated core banking system in operation any critical shortcoming is not revealed. Thus, in the course of upgrade it was succeeded to save business continuity of all divisions of Alfa-Bank.
Testing took place so successfully that the majority of the methodologies developed within this project was decided to implement in all IT departments of Alfa-Bank.
