VimpelCom starts upgrade of the DPC in Yaroslavl

The VimpelCom company defined LANIT as one of contractors of construction of DPC.

As the supplier of building block systems for the innovation data processing center (DPC) which will be constructed in the Yaroslavl region VimpelCom was selected by LANIT.

Objectives

Within the program of technology development of JSC VimpelCom is going to construct large hi-tech DPC in the Yaroslavl region. The new DPC will be created using the latest technologies which up to this point were not applied in Russia.

The LANIT company will act as the chief designer of the engineering systems of the center and also will deliver a key component – building block system of production of the Spanish company AST Modular. Each module is the autonomous premises about 500 sq.m protected from the external environment by all critical parameters according to the European and international standards. In addition to the place for installation of 200 IT racks each module includes hostless systems of electro-distribution, conditioning and ventilation.

Advantage of the modular concept selected VimpelCom is optimization of terms. On completion of installation of its each module it is possible to fill quickly with the IT equipment and to bring into operation, without waiting for completion of construction of all object.

In the closest plans of JSC VimpelCom – start of group of modules of the server premises with a total area up to 3000 sq.m placed to two floors. In further perspective necessary capacities of DPC it is possible to increase gradually, as required business expansions.

Terms

The project is expected 7 years, however is going to perform input in a system of the first module at the beginning of 2013.

Details

In addition to delivery of ADP equipment and erection facilities, the LANIT company will perform design of the engineering systems and will provide cooling of DPC on the basis of advanced technology of free-cooling.
