Moscow State University of means of communication (Oracle Beehive)

The RDTECH company completed the project for development of an information system for the organization of collective work at Moscow State University of means of communication (MIIT).

Task

For the purpose of ensuring closer information integration of staff of the university and further development of IT infrastructure of higher education institution by a joint project team of specialists RDTECH and MIIT infrastructure improvement of the Oracle Beehive platform and also its integration into portal MIITA and other applications was executed.

The platform for the organization of effective cooperation represents the whole packet of means of collective work within which all most popular channels of interaction are joint. Thanks to this system employees, teachers and students of the university have an opportunity to organize joint work by means of creation of the working groups. At the same time the project team with the forums, blogs, file resources, mailing, the calendar, uniform web conferences, access to which is provided as directly through a system, and by means of the web interface of internal portal MIITA, is easily formed. All this allows to simplify significantly cooperation of a large number of participants of workflow, including, and between geographically distributed branches.

According to the vice rector of MIIT for innovations Alexey Mikhaylovich Davydov supervising the project at an implementation stage, the geographically-distributed structure of higher education institution set thinking on the corresponding system of collective work. "In this project it was important to us to give an opportunity of effective interaction between employees regardless of their location – Alexey Mikhaylovich says. Now the employee, having login credentials, can use all necessary services in everyday work (task management, the work calendar, libraries of documents, wiki, mail, web conferences, etc.) where he was – in a workplace, in a business trip, at home, etc. All this allows to increase the general corporate culture of joint work, to make it really modern and effective. And, of course, new communication opportunities will help to interact effectively within implementation of these and future innovation projects to the wide mass of scientists, teachers and managers".

The head of department of informatization MIITA, Irina Markova, notes that "the product on which a system is constructed offers a reliable security model and also the opened, integrated, expanded set of services of collective work, allowing to transform cooperation methods to the organizations. The lot of work which is carried out together with RDTECH company on transition to a cluster configuration, integration of the software product with a personnel system and the corporate directory - all this allows to ensure the new level of reliability and safety of functioning of a system of collective work in MIITE and also it is essential to increase convenience of its maintenance".
