GMCS IBM Cognos

On February 2, 2012 the IBM corporation registered the specialized solution of GMCS based on IBM Cognos intended for complex process automation of mid-term planning in the companies of the energy sector with geographically distributed structure and the regulated budgeting processes.

The solution GMCS provides tools for automation of all cycle of mid-term planning (in planning horizon of 1-5 years). Advantages of use of the solution is reduction of time of collecting and adjustment of the business plan, increase in efficiency of functions of controlling and execution of the plan due to carrying out multilateral the plan fact of the analysis, accuracy of planning and accuracy of the data, reduction of time for preparation and transformation of data in the IFRS standards.

The solution offers opportunities for implementation of forecasting of key performance indicators of the company taking into account specifics of the industry and also carrying out the scenario analysis "that-if" also component analysis. Besides, the solution contains tools for obtaining summary reports, including due to integration with IBM Cognos BI. Depending on needs of the customer reports calculation of the main financial ratios of the company, such as EBITDA, ROS, ROE, ROI can include.

Functionally the solution is from several modules, each of which contains a set of the planning methods, forecasting and the analysis implemented in IBM Cognos. Solution components are planning modules of income, conditional variable expenses, conditional fixed expenses and investment activities, the module of loading of actual data from the accounting system and the module of a turn of data in IFRS.
